The project to improve the rolling stock situation at the PKT company in Gdynia was conducted very correctly, but towards the end of the project the costs increased significantly and the initial positive cost-effectiveness balance began to diminish. The reason for this was the need to change the bodies to more modern ones and to install an asynchronous drive with batteries. It seems, from today's perspective, that this was an idea that was not very successful. It is a pity that the idea related to the installation of a simple transistor drive without energy recuperation function (as in the only one trolleybus numbered 3052), which was much cheaper and could be combined with the existing DC motors from Jelcz trolleybuses, was not continued. Installing new asynchronous drive in an old body, where the greatest advantage of trolleybuses is precisely the longevity of the electric drive, is a mistake. Today we will no longer meet these trolleybuses on the streets of Gdynia, but one of them (O405NE) has a chance, after renovation, to join the fleet of historic vehicles, as it has been preserved and awaits in the depot.
