Components and Structure of a CV Axle (Constant Velocity Axle)

Function and position of automatic transmission lever in a car for various driving conditions.

1. P ( Parking )
Used when the car stops completely.
Blocks the transmission to keep the car from moving.
Always used when parking or starting engine.

2. R (Reverse)
To move the car backwards.
Only used when the car is completely stopped.

3. N (Blind Point)
This position is similar to a dead point in a manual transmission.
Wheels spin freely without the force of the engine.
It is generally used when stopping briefly, such as at a red light, or when pushing or towing a car.

4. D ( Advance )
For normal driving forward.
Automatic transmission shifts gears depending on speed and load.

5. D3 (Teaser 3 / Medium-High Speed)
Limit out the feed to 3. on the go. Ideal for use on uphill or downhill roads to maintain engine power and minimize frequent gear changes.

6. D2 (Stream 2 / Medium Speed)
Limit out the feed to 2. on the go only.
Useful for uphill driving or when you need more power than speed.

7. D1 (Stream 1 / Low Speed / Climb)
Limit out the feed to 1 on the go only.
It is used for very steep roads, steep climbs, steep descents or heavy load conditions.
