With the recent viral video going around, the Toyota Vios once again caught a wave of hate. The usual comments came back, pang-Grab lang & pang-taxi lang. The usual, nothing special.
But a car always becomes something different in the right hands.
Take this one for example.
What started life as a simple 1.3 automatic daily slowly changed over time. Little upgrades here and there. Learning the car, figuring things out, spending nights in the garage. Eventually the heart was swapped to a 1.5, the transmission converted to manual, and now it even runs a Blitz supercharger, something you don’t see everyday on a Vios.
Same platform people love to underestimate.
But now it pulls harder, sounds different, and carries a story built by its owner.
And we’re not pretending.
No matter how many or expensive the parts we put on it, a Vios will never have the status of an Evo or an STI. That’s just the truth.
Vios pa rin yan.
But that’s not really the point.
Because at the end of the day, it’s our car.
The one we worked on.
The one we built little by little.
Our Vios.
