LTFRB TO BAN USAGE OF E-CIGARETTES AND HEATED TO***CO PRODUCTS IN PUVS, SUPPORTS DOHโS PLEA
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is one with the Department of Health in denouncing the usage of electronic ci******es and Heated To***co Products (HTP) in Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) across the country.
E-ci******es and HTPs are currently being sold in the market as alternatives for traditional smoking.
Ni****ne, as backed up by years of research, has been proven to have negative effects on the body especially with continuous usage while second hand smoke is attributed to various diseases such as heart disease, lung cancer, emphysema โ among others.
LTFRB is also firm on imposing MC No. 2009 โ 036, otherwise known as 100% Smoke Free Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs) and Public Land Transportation Terminals, requiring all holders of Certificate of Public Conveniene (CPC) to observe the Smoking Prohibition, pursuant to R.A. No. 9211.
