📍 Job Summary
The Auto Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles to ensure they are safe, reliable, and operating efficiently. The role includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
✅ Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
✅ Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection techniques.
✅ Perform preventive maintenance (oil changes, tire rotation, brake inspections, and fluid replacement).
✅ Repair or replace defective parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, batteries, and electrical systems.
✅ Conduct engine tune-ups and routine servicing to maintain vehicle performance.
✅ Test-drive vehicles after repairs to ensure all issues have been resolved.
✅ Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
✅ Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and workshop facilities.
✅ Follow company safety policies and maintain a clean and organized work area.
✅ Coordinate with supervisors regarding vehicle conditions, repair requirements, and parts availability.
✅ Respond to emergency vehicle breakdowns when necessary.
🎓 Qualifications
✔️ High School Graduate is preferred, or a vocational graduate with certification in Automotive Mechanics or a related field.
✔️ At least 1 year of proven experience as an Auto Mechanic or in a similar role.
✔️ Knowledge of vehicle diagnostic tools, automotive systems, and repair procedures.
✔️ Ability to troubleshoot and repair gasoline and diesel engines.
✔️ Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety standards.
✔️ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
✔️ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✔️ A valid driver's license is an advantage.
💪 Physical Requirements
🔹 Ability to lift heavy vehicle parts and equipment.
🔹 Willingness to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions when necessary.
🔹 Physically fit to perform manual work in a workshop environment.
