Been a while since the last post, here’s a little quick fact about the notorious Honda EG in the Philippine car culture.

Widely regarded as one of the most versatile platforms of its era, the EG gained popularity in the Philippines throughout the 1990s and early 2000s from surplus units from japan and local made for its reliability, affordability, and ease of modification. Its compatibility with high-performance engine swaps, from B series, H series, D series, etc. that allowed enthusiasts to achieve impressive performance upgrades at relatively low cost.
Many esi’s became donor cars to complete surplus eg’s since they share the same parts and firewall swaps to fully convert to left hand drive. As the local automotive culture evolved, the Civic EG became a staple in car meets, drag strips, and car show events, symbolizing a golden era of grassroots motorsport and DIY car builds in the Philippines. Its enduring legacy reflects the passion of the Filipino motoring community.
