May 20 -26 is Road Safety Week here in New Zealand and at Smith&Smith® we want to celebrate our road safety heroes, who each and every day work to help keep kiwis safe on our roads. Today we want to recognise Aurameta Vavia.
Aura is one of our incredible Distribution Centre team members. Aura does his bit in helping keep kiwis safe on the road, by ensuring that we get the right windscreen to the right place at the right time – so we can get our customers vehicles road worthy as quickly as possible. And that’s harder than it sounds, as there can be over 15 variations of windscreens for a particular car, and as we know – a windscreen is glass and so Aura needs to pack it carefully to minimise the risk of it breaking – even if the truck hits a pothole! Aura is also very proactive in terms of safety on site. Given we deal with glass, and have trucks and forklifts operating, Health and Safety is critical to ensure that everyone goes home safe each and every day.
Aura is also often seen leading the team at our Auckland Distribution Centre in their daily warm up exercises to ensure we minimise injuries and accidents. A true Road Safety Hero in our eyes!
