Alright so here we have it. was chasing a 67/68 mustang that was already restored but stumbled on this on marketplace for a steal.
This C code 68 coupe was made in San Jose California and lived its life in Alabama- later being imported to Western Australia in 2009. It ended up living its life with an old boy that had it for years. Sadly it ended as a deceased estate sale along with two other 67&68 fastbacks to a restorer down in Bunbury. Eventually the sale being passed on to Nick.
The car is currently running a 302 Windsor with a 3 speed manual box and factory exhaust system (single pipe for a c-code). It originally had factory Air conditioning but unfortunately got removed (not great for auzzy heat). Apart from that the only thing that’s isn’t stock is a Edelbrock intake and a 600 Holley carb. With a new fuel system to match
Nick has his plans pretty clearly laid out -Starting with reliability, an oversized radiator and a few leaks here and there to be sorted. Changing out the 20 year old tyres (sketchy drive back home to say the least). Tidying up the interior along the way. Eventually getting a new exhaust system and T-5 gearbox plus a full respray. With the potentially for a 347 stroker kit down the road.
This is Nicks first project car so motivation and ambition is at an all time high. The dream of a tidy, responsive restomod mustang is the end goal.
