Legute From Legnum to Legute.. Wagon to Utility

Well that’s a 🚪 closed for now‼️
It’s been 2 months now but my chest feels like it was still yesterday 🤣..

We do NOT know what we will do with her for now but she’s fully stripped and will live her life in the house garage for how ever long until we decide what the next stage is for her.

A Chassis machine is still on the cards but this is NOT a priority in our lives right now & can happen at anytime we choose so there’s no rush.

I’m just grateful I’m still here and that she kept me alive with stock seat and belt. As many said, “testament to a well built vehicle”! Of which I’m actually proud of. No matter how much hate there is for it or not. I don’t care.

I want to AGAIN thank everyone that was a part of this build, recovery and life. We really appreciate everything you all have done. Many thanks.

This is not goodbye. This is until next time.
Stay safe and 🏎️🏁

🚨 OK so here it is… some of you wanted to see the video. I don’t think there’s anything sensitive in there but if your squeamish then maybe don’t watch 🤷🏻‍♂️⁉️

Now remember I’m not a racer ok I’m not a professional. We all know this was driver error and it’s life (Lift off oversteer). It happens and you learn from mistakes. You get better with seat time so gotta get back out there and carry on.

One thing that still amazes me is how I hit that wall around 90km and it happened so fast yet when I entered the grass I felt like I had so much time to think about my options and decide on which order to do what and if those all failed by the time I reach the stone pit I need to let go the steering wheel. And well that’s exactly what I did but watching it was not slow.. it’s like a split second on time and it’s all over.

Moral of the story. Fit anchoring rods with rope or chain to your car that shoot out and peg in if you leave the tarmac 😆😆 cause I didn’t slow down at all. If anything I went faster …. They always tell you the grass is fast(Gary)

Ps those noises are me trying to breathe after my sternum broke 🤣🤭

🏎️🚨🩼 Righto everyone..
I know lots of you have been asking for some footage and info and over the week I’ve come to terms with being fully ok with losing the car (pretty much entirely) you’ll see over the next few days.

Again I just want to thank Gary and everyone who was there and that helped. Incl those who got the broken girl home and onto the hoist for me too(what a surprise) very grateful.

This walk around video is a visual assessment of the damage once removed from the track and put on the hoist. No attempts to start or power up or anything. You can clearly see she’s seen better days, the North South member is more like South East, The rails are almost half a meter over point to point to give you an idea of movement. The brand new radiator was almost that compressed it almost wanted to turn back into a liquid 😆
Anything Fiberglass is pretty much non existent but the carbon parts are still mostly intact although cracked. That’s very good to see. Proves that carbon is better than FG all day long…

I’ll put up the “in car” video soon for you all to see as well. Makes for some good viewing and assessment of Faults that led to the “you can’t park there” saying…

All in all she’s a goodie, I’m I think healing well, still bloody hard to breath deep or cough and lay down but my neck is better each day.

All in all the car did what it was meant to do and kept me safe really even tho I didn’t have a harness.

Now for a strip and decision time.

huge shout out to Gary and the crew their mammoth efforts on Saturday. What a great community we have. He didn’t tell me...

I’m on the mend broken sternum and some bruising but all in all they say I’ve done well..

Huge shout out to for such a successful birthday event. It was amazing. Filled with so many beautiful cars and such a great atmosphere of people and car cultures coming together.
I sincerely apologise for being “THAT GUY” to hold up the afternoon events and hope you managed to get out there again soon after. I thank you for the great award too “THAT GUY” award. No better way to present it than in the back of an ambulance🫣🤣🤣👌

I’m not worried 1 bit about the car. I just wanted to make sure everyone managed to continue having a great afternoon without delays. And again I apologise for parking there.

Thank you very much to everyone who helped behind the scenes to take care of the car and tow wagon whilst I was chauffeured to the penthouse suite. Means a lot to me. Thank you.
Six weeks of healing ahead of me and it’s not enjoyable I promise but it’s my lesson to learn. Is all part of the journey and I’m grateful to be able to be here today to laugh with everyone and joke about it. Very grateful..

Should be a good day!! Some cool cars coming 🤛. If you haven’t booked the. Best you hurry up before theyr sold out …

👌Got to be happy with that. High 22’s for this whale is very good in my inexperienced opinion. More of a bucket seat, removed towbar, added power steering cooling, removed canards seems to have aided in 1-2 seconds time. 🤣🤣 Now to build a splitter, close up the extra holes on the fog covers, build blank plates around headlight covers and bonnet, and lighten panels in rear of car. I also need tovadd a surgr tank as i seem to be throwing my fuel around too much lately End of August should see another. 30kg saving and less air pooling in front too

Finally an official way to see times for the Ute. And times are looking not bad for a heavy whale. New brake rotors (cheapies) are cold and make a noise but once warm theyr better.
