Abrasive Sand Blaster / Surface Preparation Technician

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Abrasive Sand Blaster to join our team in Richmond, Nelson.

This role involves preparing surfaces for coating by abrasive blasting, ensuring high-quality finishes across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Abrasive blasting of steel and other materials
Surface preparation for painting/coating
Maintaining equipment and work area
Following health & safety procedures

What we’re looking for:

Experience in abrasive blasting or similar industry (preferred) full training provided for the right applicant.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Physically fit and reliable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

We specialise in all types of heavy transport repairs, as well as a variety of light vehicles. We work closely with local companies and insurers, to provide practical and reliable repair solutions.

We are currently seeking a Trade Assistant to join our busy and dynamic team.

What We’re Looking For:
Some automotive workshop experience is required. An apprenticeship opportunity is available for the right candidate who is motivated to grow their career in the trade.

Ideal Candidate Qualities:
* Works well in a team environment
* Practices safe work habits with strong time management
* Has a "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn
* Can follow clear instructions and work unsupervised
* Must be able to pass random drug testing

Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing trucks and machinery for painting or repairs
* Cleaning the workshop and organising tools
* Learning to operate heavy machinery
* Assisting tradespeople as required
