Ever wondered what's actually in the air you breathe at work all day? Exhaust fumes, welding smoke, grinding and cutting dust — they all contain particulate matter, and the WHO classifies it as a confirmed human carcinogen.
Here's the scary bit: the smallest particles (PM2.5) are 28 times smaller than a human hair. You can't see them, you can't smell them, but your lungs and bloodstream absorb them every shift.
In NZ, there's no legal limit on how much particulate matter can be in your workshop air, and extraction systems aren't compulsory. So keeping your team safe comes down to what you choose to install.
