All these snaps are pre repairs.
Valued customers never know whats behind the trims these days. They are driving with exposed, poor wiring, and worst case scenarios can short, destroy, vehicle components which it did, ac not working, hazards, controls and dash. Two days in a row I have seen on different vehicles but not the first time ive seen.
I have seen lots come in with vehicle features malfunctioned and some not working, with a scratch on the head, customers do not know what happened.
If i come across any of this mess even though ive already quoted a price initially, i don't care about the money but il have to repair it and charge NO extra however just going to take extra time. At the end of the day, atleast I know that when you pick up the car, there would be no exposed wires, cuts, short or nothing else would happen in the future.
Twist and tape is still used when it is needed brothers n sisters but there are heatshrinks, connectors or even soldering atleast. Most functions run through fuses, blocks circuit breakers, relays and all that sustaining overloadings but say for example if a high or low speed ecu or control module canbus communication line was worked on and such was exposed and shorted, the car will shut off suddenly and you'll sit on the side of the road licking ya chocolate icecream thinking is it my spark plugs, fuel, do i need a service?
Do it right the first time, customers do really appreciate it. Its easier to say il have your car for another half hour or 2 or reschedule than to have a customer come back with something else not working.
