Mazda Demio knock sensor.

One of todays jobs was a Mazda Demio which had an engine light that would come on and go off, come on and go off. Connected the scan tool and found a code stored for the engines knock sensor. Quite a common issue on these engines. Best part about this job is it's located directly behind the intake manifold. So off with intake, replace the sensor and wack the manifold back on. Cleared the codes and shes all good to go!

Today was a day of cooling system repairs.

First up was a Toyota Corolla which I recently serviced and noted that the water pump was leaking. New water pump and gasket fitted, refilled with fresh coolant and its all good to go.

Next one up was a BMW which need a new radiator. The not so great thing about European cars is they have a lot of plastic fittings and hoses in the cooling system. During the radiator replacement a couple of fittings and hoses broke so had to get some extra parts. New radiator and other parts fitted, fresh coolant added and this BMW is back up and running.

When theres an issue with your cooling system, dont leave it, get it checked out ASAP. Your cooling system is a very important part of keeping your engine running.

Subaru Outback cambelt and a Holden Trax oil leak.

First up today was a Subaru that needed a new cambelt and water pump. Pretty straight forward job to do on these engines. Pull everything off, fit the new stuff and its done and dusted!

Second job up was checking an oil leak on a Holden. After looking at where all the oil is, I determined it was the rocker cover gasket that was leaking. Pulled the rocker off, fitted the new gasket, refitted it all. Its important with any oil leak job to give the engine a good clean down afterwards.

Another Saturday done and dusted. Todays job was a couple of front shocks on a Honda Jazz.

One shock had been leaking and noted at the previous WOF inspection. When doing shocks it's always a good idea to do them as a pair. Out with the old and in with the new. This Honda is now nice and safe to continue driving.

Todays job, 2012 Toyota Hilux new injectors, new cambelt kit and new water pump.

Stripped it all down, new water pump fitted, new cambelt, idler and hydraulic tensioner fitted. Cooling system refilled with new coolant and system bled. New injectors fitted, coded in and everything relearned. With a job like this we always fit new gaskets and washers where need be. It may cost a little extra but its that security that nothing is gonna leak.

Its never nice coming out to your car and it doesn't want to start. That's exactly what happened to this customer.

Checked out this BMW for a no start. After checking a few things out, it seemed like the starter motor was the issue. The not so good part about BMW starter motors is that they're located under the intake manifold. Off with the manifold, pull the starter motor out and bench test it to confirm. Old starter motor was buggered! In with a new one, everything back together and fired it up.

Another happy customer! Especially since they saved a bunch on getting it towed to a workshop.

No better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than servicing the work van.I always say maintenance is key!

This customer got in contact about their car running rough and the engine light coming on. Not a great thing to happen when you finish work.

Popped the scanner on, found a misfire on cylinder 4. A few checks later and the fault was found. New coil pack in and its running nice and smooth again. All of this done in the carpark at their work.

Best advantage of being mobile is this customer just saved a ton on a tow truck!
