Collision Repair Business Training Plan

Last year, Neil Pritchard introduced a service by I-CAR New Zealand to prepare training plans for collision repair businesses.

A lot of people book training courses on an ad hoc basis, meaning that the validation of their Recognition level and the chance to move to the next Recognition level is sometimes missed. This often results in them having to book training courses that they otherwise would not have attended.

By getting a Training Plan at the beginning of the year, they get the most appropriate courses booked to advance their staff and the business to the next level, be it Bronze, Silver, Platinum, or even Gold Class.

All you have to do is email the names of the staff that you wish to receive training for during the year to [email protected].

You may make suggestions as to what courses or training you wish for any individual, or simply leave it up to I-CAR to make suggestions.

Rick will then go through and check each person’s training record and Recognition Level, then suggest what training would be best for that individual. A report is then sent back to you to check that this suits you and once this is agreed, the training courses are booked, and you receive a calendar with all the information on it.

I-CAR then notifies you when the courses are coming up and you are billed as usual.

This means that you do not have to think about training or C-CAR points again for the year, provided that your employees attend the agreed courses.

The cost for this service is $200 for up to five students, $300 for five to ten students, $400 for ten to fifteen students, and for over fifteen students, a fair charge will be negotiated.

People who use training plans rarely fail to use them on an ongoing basis, such is the value that they see in the scheme.

To get a Training Plan, email [email protected]
Just let us know who you want to complete the course, and we can check that it will be suitable.

I-CAR looks forward to providing you with the latest training and technical information available for collision repair.

Electric cars and gasoline cars show very different thermal signatures because they create heat in different ways. Gasoline vehicles throw off a lot of heat from the engine and exhaust, so the front and underside glow brightly in thermal imaging, while EVs generate far less waste heat and look cooler and more even overall.

On an electric car, the warmest spots usually cluster around the wheels and battery pack rather than a central engine bay, reflecting where the main electrical and mechanical loads sit. Because of this distinctive heat pattern, thermal cameras make it easy to tell whether a vehicle is running on electricity or gasoline at a glance.

More New Zealanders have been thinking about switching to electric vehicles in recent weeks as pressure grows on fuel prices.

Banks have reported more interest in loans to purchase EVs and Meridian said it was seeing more activity on its charging network.

RNZ asked the main banks what products they offered.
