The Annual Great ORIX NZ Bake Off is a favourite event for our team. It brings us together to support the important work of our valued customer Hato Hone St John. This year’s Light the Way campaign is helping fund the rebuild and repair of 10 vital ambulance stations across New Zealand.

ORIX bakers brought their A-game to the table with an amazing selection of sweet and savoury creations - with some very talented (and competitive) bakers in our team. Those who preferred tasting to baking donated to the cause for the privilege of becoming official judges and casting their votes.

While the competition was tough, it was a great opportunity to come together as a connected team, sharing laughter, stories, and friendly rivalry along the way. And with ORIX New Zealand matching every dollar donated by our team, our collective contribution will have an even greater impact.

🏆 Congratulations to our winners:
🔹 1st Place Savoury: Jen Southan for her delicious, seeded crackers with whipped feta and lemon
🔹 1st Place Sweet: Mandy Steffens for her milk tart – a beautiful South African treat
🔹 2nd Place Sweet: Leanne Gardiner for her incredible Defibrillator Vanilla Cake – perfectly themed in honour of Hato Hone St John with a touch of fluro to reflect the Light the Way theme
🔹 3rd Place Sweet: Nick Starck delivered a crowd favourite with delicious chocolate chip cookies

Yesterday we celebrated United Nations Cultural Day with a shared lunch. Our team brought plates of ‘deliciousness’ that represented a taste of their culture for us all to enjoy.

This was to recognise the United Nations World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development which celebrates the richness of the world’s cultures, and the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.

It was a great way for us to connect, share traditions and to celebrate the cultures of our diverse workforce.

Congratulations to our enthusiastic team of runners and walkers representing Team ORIX who successfully completed the Southern Cross Round the Bays Auckland event on Sunday.

It was great to be part of this large event which saw thousands of people completing the 8.4-km course from Quay St in Auckland CBD to St Heliers Bay on a stunning day in Auckland City. We had fun together along the way then enjoyed more laughter and over lunch on the beach.

To support our communities, ORIX provides two paid volunteer days annually. This allows our people to make a difference to charities and causes that are close to their hearts.

Last week, some of our team were at the SPCA Centre in Auckland helping with a variety of jobs to support operations across this large facility. We were also lucky to get some cuddles with one of the residents there!

Movember is a global initiative focused on raising awareness and raising money to change the face of men's health.

The Movember Foundation prioritise funding for the three biggest health issues facing men: mental health and su***de prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
