Congratulations to our enthusiastic team of runners and walkers representing Team ORIX who successfully completed the Southern Cross Round the Bays Auckland event on Sunday.

It was great to be part of this large event which saw thousands of people completing the 8.4-km course from Quay St in Auckland CBD to St Heliers Bay on a stunning day in Auckland City. We had fun together along the way then enjoyed more laughter and over lunch on the beach.

To support our communities, ORIX provides two paid volunteer days annually. This allows our people to make a difference to charities and causes that are close to their hearts.

Last week, some of our team were at the SPCA Centre in Auckland helping with a variety of jobs to support operations across this large facility. We were also lucky to get some cuddles with one of the residents there!

We were thrilled to help the Orewa Surf Lifesaving Club with some much-needed new life jackets for their amazing volunteer lifeguards.

It was great to see Prime Minister Christopher Luxon drop by the club yesterday to meet the kids and even head out on the water with the team!

Yesterday we came together for Diwali with a lunchtime feast of traditional Indian delicacies, shared stories and connection.

Diwali is a festival that celebrates light, prosperity and cultural harmony. We were amazed by some of the beautiful outfits and enjoyed taking time out from our busy day to honour this important festival, celebrated by millions around the globe.

A big thanks to some of our team Savin Kumar, Yash Thakkar and Kartik for organising this special lunchtime celebration.

What an amazing time we had at the Sport NZ 24 Hour Challenge at Eden Park. Our incredible team of walkers and runners kept that treadmill going for a full 24 hours - racking up total of 192.83 kms!

We're thrilled to have achieved our fundraising goal of $10,000! This will go towards the great work that Cure Kids does to help improve outcomes for sick children across Aotearoa. A huge thank you to everyone who donated to help us achieve our goal and support this important cause.

Our team came together in so many ways over this 24-hour period demonstrating our core values of being tenacious, accountable, connected and open by:

▪️ Working up a sweat on the treadmill
▪️ Providing food, coffee and encouragement
▪️ Donating to this great cause
▪️ And so many did all the above!

Thanks to Cure Kids for putting on such a great event and to our incredible team who kept that treadmill humming. Special shout out to our Head of Operations, Gareth Davies, who did five hours on the treadmill running over 53.67 km!

We’ve been walking and running our way through night and clocked up over 125 kms so far.

It was for a very good reason. Our team have kept that treadmill going and are thrilled to have passed the halfway mark of our 24-hour treadmill journey for the Cure Kids Rebel Sport NZ 24 Hour Challenge at Eden Park.

The venue here is filled with the energy, laughter and a little bit of sweat, from all the teams.

We’re all here to support great work done by Cure Kids and help them make a difference to Kiwi kids who live with serious health issues by helping fund medical research. Today we’d like to give a special shout out to our friends at Giltrap Group for your generous donation towards this important cause. We’re very grateful!
