_For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bo***ge again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father._
One of the greatest challenges we experience in discerning the voice of God and learning to be led by the Spirit of God is the fear of making a mistake.
In learning to be led by the Spirit of God, we are confronted with the fear of missing it. As a result of this, many believers shy away from learning to listen to their spirit.
Thank God He did not leave us helpless. God has given us His program for our accuracy in His Word. By following God's program for our accuracy, we can avoid making a mistake in discerning the leading of the Spirit of God.
We can accurately discern the leading of the Spirit of God at all times. We can be very sure of the direction that we receive anytime.
The first key to accurately discerning the leading of the Spirit is to deal with the fear of making a mistake. In learning to discern the leading of the Spirit of God, never entertain the fear of making a mistake.
The fear of making a mistake empowers us to make many mistakes. What you fear greatly, you attract to yourself. In the realm of the spirit, fear is a spiritual magnet for evil.
You end up attracting to yourself what you fear. See Job's example.
Job 3:25
_For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me._
Job said that what he greatly feared had come upon him. This is not peculiar to Job. It is applicable to every one of us. Whatever we fear greatly, we attract to ourselves.
Hence if you entertain the fear of making a mistake in discerning the leading of the Spirit of God you will end up making many mistakes.
Have a zero tolerance for fear. Never entertain the fear of missing it in learning to discern the leading of the Spirit of God.
