WHEEL BALANCING/TIRE BALANCING
What is wheel balancing?
Wheel balancing is describes as the distribution of mass within an automobile wheels.
Tire/wheel may be rebalanced if the driver perceives excessive vibration. Tire/wheel balancing is different from wheel alignment.
Wheel balancing is the process of equalizing the weight of the combined tire and wheel assembly so that it spins and runs smoothly at high speed.
BALANCING IS NECESSARY
A weight imbalance in every wheel/tire assembly is pretty much inevitable. Only once in a very blue moon do we see assembly come out naturally, perfectly balancing.
Whenever you change your tires there is high tendency that the wheel is not going to balance, then you will need to balance the wheel, for you to enjoy smooth runs and lasting tires.
BALANCING CHANGE OVER TIME
As tire wears, the balance will slowly and dynamically change over time. As the tire wears is high tendency for the tire to loss weight or change in position of the wheel.
BALANCING ONLY FIXES BALANCE
Balancing weight cannot compensate for a problem that is actually physical in nature, only for weight differences. Balancing will not prevent out of round tire or irregular wear or bent wheel. It does not fixes a bend tire or wheels.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED WHEEL BALANCING
# Vibration in the steering wheel
# Vibration of the floorboards or seat that get worse at faster speeds.
# Uneven and faster tread wear
# Poor fuel economy
BENEFIT OF WHEEL BALANCING
+ Smoother, more comfortable ride
+ Reduce tire and treadwear
+ Prolong the life of the tire.
