Dangers of driving a car without a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) .......

1. Increased risk of injury: The primary purpose of an SRS airbag is to protect the driver and passengers in the event of a collision. Without an airbag, the likelihood of sustaining severe injuries, particularly head and chest injuries, increases significantly.

2. Lack of occupant protection: SRS airbags are designed to complement seat belts by providing an additional layer of protection. Without an airbag, the effectiveness of the seat belts alone is reduced, leaving occupants more vulnerable to impact forces during a collision.

3. Higher fatality rate: Studies have consistently shown that vehicles equipped with airbags have lower fatality rates compared to those without. The absence of an SRS airbag increases the risk of fatal injuries in accidents.

What is my work?
My work is to detect the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). One of the common system code is "B1650," which indicates a fault in the Occupant Classification System (OCS). The OCS is responsible for detecting the presence and weight of passengers to determine airbag deployment. If an airbag is absent in the vehicle, this DTC will likely be triggered as a result.
