When your hybrid electric vehicle suddenly fails to start(come on READY mode), when you shut off the engine, and a p0aa6 isolation trouble code retrieved during a scan, there's the likelihood that the source of the fault could be water ingression around the battery pack.

If you drive a Honda vehicle, especially a 2004/5 Accord, and you suddenly,

1) realized you can't accelerate beyond 3000rpm,
2) experience loss of power and poor fuel economy,

then you need to know this:
1) your car's VTEC system, maybe be bad, or the screens in the VTEC system screens are clogged with debris and dirt.

2) removing and cleaning the screens off of debris, would fix the issue, if all other things have been checked.

3) replace your engine oil and filter, as at when due.
Dead oils have got carbon deposits and sludges in them that could clog the VTEC system screens, and cause driveability
problems.

4) ensure engine oil is fully guaged in the engine.

5) don't fall for anyone telling you to replace the engine, just because of this problem.

6) if you're fixing the car yourself, please do scanned the car, before throwing money at parts. That won't help you either.

7) the common code you may get when engine is scanned would be a P2646 trouble code.

Please do well to comment, so that other people can learn too.

When your car's fuse(s) keeps blowing up, don't just go ahead and keep replacing the fuses with wire strands, or replacement fuses.

A blown automotive fuse(s), dies not just blow without a root cause.

Some of the reasons for a blown fuse could be short circuited wire harnesses to ground or power, loosed connectors, and/or corroded connectors.

Replacing a fuse, other than its specified amperage, is only a panacea for system malfunctions in the electrical/electronic circuits of your car.

PS: Fixing electrical problems on cars, would require you have the ability to read electrical wiring diagrams, perform continuity, resistance, and voltage tests on electrical circuits before attempting repairs.

I had to carry out the tests above to eliminate or identify where the problem came from.

The tests also helped to eliminate the ECU (brain box), not being the problem.

Here's a logical way an overheating hybrid electric Camry 2010 can be diagnosed.

Perform these simple steps before throwing money at parts.

The Camry 2010 hybrid has an electric water pump, controlled by the car's ECU(Brainbox), while on a 2008 Camry hybrid, a regular none electric water pump is employed.

The short video I have made, would shed more light of the procedures.

Toyota hybrid Prius 2008.
Have you ever wondered why your car's engine keeps running continuously without switching to electric mode? We'll, apart from the high voltage battery going bad, one other thing that needs paying attention to could be a faulty battery smart unit.
Its cool one tries various repair options before settling for a total replacement of parts.

Repairs saves costs, if they are done well, and professionally. It only becomes a problem when certain procedures are left out of the process.

I have opted for a repair, instead of an outright replacement in this case.

I had to replaced some of the resistors that got burnt on the ICB(integrated circuit unit) here.

Pls do not attempt this repair, if you're not comfortable near high voltage systems.

Have you ever being sold that myth by your electrician or mechanic about CONNECTING YOUR CAR'S RADIATOR COOLING SYSTEM directly to a car's ignition system? They often tell you, that the weather over here in Nigeria is hotter, and hence needs the fan to continuously run in order to cool the engine.
Such myths are lies, and should never be accepted.

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOUR FAN IS CONNECTED TO THE IGNITION SYSTEM?
1. Radiator fan immediately kicks in, when you turn on your ignition system via the key.
This isn't supposed to be so. Its supposed to only cone on, when the engine temperature has exceeded a certain threshold, where the thermostat begins functioning.
2. You keep replacing radiator fan(s) more often. This definitely would impact negatively on your pocket.
3. You hear loud humming noises coming from the engine area. That's the noise of the fan blades working.

CASE STUDY
Pictures above were that of a Nissan Infiniti FX 35 foreign used that some electricians, wrongly connected the fan directly to the ignition system.
Here, I'm undoing those illegal connections, and trying to revert to factory fittings, where the fans only comes on, when either the engine temperature has reached the point where it is supposed to trigger the thermostat to function, or when you turned on the AC system.

In conclusions, do always agree with people telling you, you need to modify your radiator cooling fans in order to take care of a purported temperature change from country of origin of purchase of a vehicle. Modifying such systems, has a lot of negative impacts on vehicle emissions, fuel consumptions, and on one's wallet.

Hi guys! If you've got someone whose having issues with their hybrid electric vehicle (Toyota, Honda, or a Ford fusion, etc.,), and is so frustrated right now, could you helped that fellow out by just sharing or referring them here please?

I have specially prepared a YouTube video on a Toyota hybrid highlander that had its high voltage battery compartment flooded, and the cheapest possible way we got it back on the road.

1. Explains the problem

2. Completed the repairs

3. Whilst testing running the car, here's what came out of the exhaust tailpipe

This vehicle got its high voltage battery pack flooded, which caused some major voltage spikes, that resulted in the burnout of all of the HV components (ECU...
