HARD FOUGHT 4TH PLACE AT THE 12 HOURS OF SPA FRANCORCHAMPS EARNS FOR VIPER NIZA RACING TEAM JOINT 1ST PLACE IN THE OVERALL MICHELIN 24H SERIES GTE-AM STANDINGS

This result elevates Viper Niza Racing to joint 1st place in the overall Michelin 24H European Series standings (GT3-AM Class) with Hofor Racing and HAAS RT at 56 points with three more events to go. The team is also tied for 5th in the overall GT3 Class standings, just 10 points off the leader.

While the team missed out on its desired target of a third consecutive podium finish at Spa Francorchamps – they were 2nd in the GT3 AM Class last year and won the PRO/AM class at the inaugural TCR SPA500 in 2019 – Viper Niza Racing nevertheless pulled off a valiant comeback from qualifying 15th overall and starting 9th in the GT3-AM Class on the grid.

The race was run in two parts – race 1 was held over five-and-a-half hours on Saturday before cars came into parc ferme, continuing with Race 2 and another six-and-a-half hours on Sunday.
Lining up against a grid of 40 cars, the trio of Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang and Aaron Lim however, comes away with a small consolation of being the third highest placed team in the overall top 10 finishers driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO, in a field dominated by McLaren, Audi and Porsche.

Viper Niza Racing is backed by Motul, IWC as its Official Watch Brand, Momentum Autoparts, and SPARCO Italy.

POSTPONEMENT OF THE 2026 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Rd.3 MALAYSIA GT 300km RACE driven by TOYOTA GAZOO RACING

GTA Co. Ltd. and Haro Sports & Entertainment. Sdn. Bhd. today announced the postponement of the “2026 AUTOBACS SUPER GT Round 3 Malaysia GT 300km Race driven by TOYOTA GAZOO RACING”.

The decision follows a comprehensive assessment of the current global environment, including the escalating and uncertain situation in the Middle East, which has introduced significant operational and logistical challenges. As the Malaysian round remains the only event outside of Japan on the Super GT calendar, these developments have had a disproportionate impact on the planning and delivery of the event.

The postponement is temporary, and both GTA and HARO Sports reaffirm their commitment to bringing SUPER GT back to Malaysia when conditions allow for a safe, stable, and high-quality event.

Further updates, will be communicated in due course via official channels.

Wing Hin Motorsports’ Driver Development Program received a huge boost when two of its drivers finished the opening round of the Japanese Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Clubman Series in 2nd and 6th positions at Autopolis Circuit.

Malaysia’s Mitchell Cheah got off to a dream start in his racing debut in Japan when he powered the Wing Hin Motorsports GR86 to a hard-fought 2nd place

The performance by the 28-year-old also places Wing Hin Motorsports in a strong position as it starts the new season as defending champions (it won the overall championship in 2025).

Cheah’s fellow Driver Development Program team mate Indonesian Jordan Johan who was representing Toyota GAZOO Racing Indonesia, also made a strong debut, finishing 6th amidst another intense midfield battle and improving one position from 7th quickest in qualifying.

Both drivers are under the guidance of Masahiro Sasaki, a Gazoo Racing and Rookie Racing driver, who is spearheading Wing Hin Motorsports’ Driver Development Program to establish a gateway for the rise of racing talent from Asia.

The 2026 Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Cup will be run over seven rounds. From the season-opener at Autopolis, the Series moves to Round 2 from 16-17 May at Sportsland Sugo, followed by Round 3 from 27-28 June at Okayama International Circuit; and Round 4 from 8-9 August at the Tokachi Speedway. Round 5 will be held at Fuji Speedway from 5-6 September, followed by Round 6 from 3-4 October at Suzuka Circuit before the 7th and final round at Mobility Resort Montegi from 21-22 November.

Wing Hin Motorsports’ 2026 racing campaign continues to be powered by long-standing lubricant partner Moty’s and a bold new initiative to use for the very first time a new Moty's engine oil developed using RRBO (Re-Refined Base Oil) — a base oil produced by re-refining used engine oil.

WING HIN MOTORSPORTS LOOKS TO JAPAN TO EXPAND ITS DRIVER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

In collaboration with Masahiro Sasaki, a Gazoo Racing and Rookie Racing driver, the Malaysian team will field two drivers at the opening of the 2026 Toyota GAZOO Racing GR86/BRZ Clubman Series this weekend as part of its Driver Development Program. Wing Hin Motorsports had won the Series in its debut last year with Naquib Azlan and also clinched a 4th place overall with a second Malaysian driver Amer Harris.

This year, Wing Hin Motorsports will field Malaysian touring car ace Mitchell Cheah and Indonesian Jordan Johan in the Series with Round 1 taking on the Autopolis Circuit.

Despite never having raced at Autopolis, Cheah heads to Japan armed with a decorated history in racing. He had spearheaded Wing Hin Motorsports’ European campaign and secured 4th in Class in the 4-Hour ADAC Nurburgring Langstrecken Series in 2025.

The 28-year-old was one of two drivers who propelled Wing Hin Motorsports to win the 2025 TSS The Super Series GT4 Class championship; the 2024 Toyota GAZOO Racing Vios Challenge Super Sporting Class champion; the 2022 Malaysia Championship Series – MTC champion; and the 2019 Sepang 1000 KM Class winner.
