Just because you OH your engine doesn't mean you put high comp pistons and high cams. Many people want to use it for leisurely touring and city riding in STDs as possible. If you have a current car with all the genuine parts, you'll use a new one, but if you have a lot of the parts that are out of order, you'll reuse the ones that don't see much damage. Valves are face cut and pistons are also reused by coating the skirt section after the carbon is dropped. Engineered to last and maintain condition as long as possible.

The selection of metal to support the crackshaft and conrod is an important task when assembling a 4 cycle engine. Each crankshaft, conrod, and crankcase has an engraving indicating its size, and the thickness of the metal can be selected from the combination of numbers. However, these clearances can vary depending on the use of the engine (racing, street, etc.) and therefore, many times, they don't go according to the combination of these numbers. Eventually, we will measure the size of the crankshaft, conrod, and crankcase and re-select the best metal. The mindset of an engineer appears in these places too.
