YOUR MECHANIC REMOVED THE THERMOSTAT AND SAID: “OVERHEATING FIXED.” 😳
BUT DID HE FIX THE CAR… OR JUST REMOVE THE EVIDENCE?

You’ve probably heard it before: “We’re in Africa, we don’t need a thermostat.”

But the thermostat helps the engine reach and maintain its designed operating temperature. Removing it may appear to improve an overheating problem, while the actual cooling-system fault remains.

The manufacturer designed that engine to operate with a thermostat for a reason.

Temperature stays down after removing it — proper repair, or clever shortcut?
