Do you know the expression “En voiture Simone!”?

The French have a car-related expression “En voiture Simone!” (Let’s go!). This was made popular in 1962 by TV presenter Guy Lux, who would call out the catchphrase to
his co-host Simone Garnier to start the game show.

The nostalgic phrase is more than a nod to pop culture; it is a piece of motorsport history that can be traced back to one of France’s first female drivers: Simone des Forest. Simone is featured in our book, 100 Years of Women: Motorsport & Monaco.
