In this pandemic of covid-19 we understand taxi business is one of the affected business in Kenya, especially in cities and major towns.

We have a lot of complaints from online taxi drivers, regarding the robbery of motor vehicles especially in Nairobi, where the victim's vehicles have been vandalized or vanish for good.
It's very painful learning that the app hailing company that connects you with the criminal-client, are not willing to assist on tracing the criminal.

We want to put those apps hailing company on notice, that it will not be business as usual, it's your responsibility to scrutinize those client, before you allow them into your systems.

We also urge online taxi members, if anything happens to you as long as robbery is concerned, please let us know so that we can evaluate these app hailing companies, and take action against them... STAY SAFE.

It's very unfortunate learning that an online driver was killed in a cold blood in Kikuyu a few days back,
We've not been able to get the latest version from the authorities, but unconfirmed reports indicate that the driver was last seen in a company of the partner (owner of the m/v) in the same area.
It's very sad if whatever happened to the slain driver was because of weekly remittance,as claimed by the close source of the late driver.
The question is how many innocent lives will be lost, for the drivers to unite and have their voice heard?
It's clear that the government will not solve your predicaments, politicians will not solve either, now to a point of a partner being a suspect God help taxi drivers.
It's not too late drivers you can do something it's not business as usual.

WHY WE MUST JOIN HANDS AND MAKE OUR VOICE HEARD!!

One reason is because the people who can help make our greaverncies heard will not and will never mention anything about uber company, why because they're beneficial.
These people they regularly take online cabs and enjoy paying ksh150, 25% commission included.
What pains most is that 25% commission goes direct to Netherlands.
Most of these people earn over 500k monthly, but they will patiently wait for the change of ksh 20, yes ! you pick them at CBD took them to Yaya center for instance and fare is ksh180 they give you ksh 200 and they can wait like forever for you to look for change, okay it's their money though.
These people are (1) our so called leaders but unfortunately they are politicians (2) our so called media personalities but they are hypocrites.
Online taxi business has over 3k drivers 97% below 35y years, the so called youthful leaders and have never raised this issue before you're a failure.
I want to challenge these two guys (1) Jeff Kuria you claim to be youth fighter ,only to go on air FM saying how uber driver messed with your time because the vehicle had run out of fuel,is this how to fight for the youth?.
The other one is Cyprian, Is NyakundiCyprian, Is Nyakundi Nyakundi you claim to be boy child's president you mean you don't know there's something going terribly wrong out there involving boy child ?
You guys do your research and stop being mean.
2015 liter of petrol was retailing between ksh 80 to ksh 90 Uber was charging ksh 60 per km, today a liter of petrol goes for ksh115 and uber charges ksh 16 per km, this is the job creations that Uhuru Kenyatta keep on singing every day.

It's clear that no one in Kenyan authority is willing to liberate strangled online drivers from neocolonial activities in the name of technology.
Starting from the presidency, judiciary to registrative there is no hope.
Therefore whenever you decide to fight what's rightfully yours make sure your voice have been heard properly.
It's very painful that a foreigners can come all the way only to exploit Kenya citizens, under the watch of the so called government.

04/07/2019

We've been following very closely the issue of online taxis for sometime now and as KENYA TAXI Operators we've realized that relevant bodies that have been put in place to protect business for Kenyans , are either compromised by some of foreign companies so that they can comfortably exploit Kenyan citizens,or are ignoring what our drivers are going through.
Therefore Kenya Taxi operators and it's members fully supports the planned picketing on 15th of July, we also advise our members not to engage in criminal activities on the said date.
