Lemme tell you maina... . Back then, I owned a CBR300R, a red bike that taught me a lot about biking, it was my first bike to own. To me, it was a sport bike... but bro, there is a huge difference between a senke, a sport bike and a super bike. Mine was a senke despite being a 300c bike ju weh! 🙌, niliwahi kipata! So one Sunday afternoon niliitwa ride by one of my good friends to ride with the big boys. The meet up was Parklands shell. Mimi nikatokea na sport bike yangu. I was the first to arrive coz am a time keeper. Actually in primary school, to encourage me to work harder nitoke bottom 10, I was made a bell ringer. Mimi na kengele 🤞. Hadi I owned ile wrist watch ya majira ... Ikikwama juu ya battery unagonga gonga and it goes back to life for another full year. GenZ will never understand where we came from... Tuwachane na dinosaurs na homo erectus kwanza and get back to the ride. Kwa hio ride, we had a couple of bikes ranging from 600cc - 1,000cc. Me ndie nilikua na smallest cc, 300, but si bike ni bike? Tukaingia Forest road - Pangani stretch, nikapitwa na wasee kadhaa mbio mbio, nywiiii nywii nywiii. Mimi nani? Nikasema wako more faster ju am due service na sikua nimeeka vpower k**a wao..... Haisuru .... Hata sijamaliza kufikiria, kila mtu sasa alikua mbele yangu. Nina zao... Nikasema wacha niweke gear zote sita, nika_catch up kidogo. Kidogo ikawa kidogo sana, kumbe watu wako gear 1 na 2 🥵🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️.

Kufika Pangani hapo chini ya foot bridge. ... naona tail lights tu zikipotea huko juu Muthaiga. Nikajaribu kufinya wapi!!! Watu wanapotea tu. Bikes on steroids...

Kufika survey, sioni watu ... niko pekee yangu na roho mtaka kitu, nilirudia KCA university hapo kwa tunnel 🥲🥲. Ju sasa no sooner did we start riding than they arrived .... ningedu? 😂😂

Even with the bike deafening sound, full led lights on and being at the center of the road ... Some drivers would say, "sikukuona!" No wonder they can't see "keep left unless overtaking" and you think Ruto is only the problem? I don't think so.... The problem starts with us, so tone down the one term shenanigans....

So one day mec akani'call niendee bike, amemaliza na iko sawa. Sema furaha! Ile furaha nilikua nayo unaeza dhani nimekosana na dame anapenda pesa au father in law kuniita "my son!"

Jioni hata siku-sign out job. Nilitoka tu. Wanifute , wasinifute - bike imeisha - nina zao 😂. Mimi huyo kwa boda mbio mbio hadi garage. Bike ilikua imeoshwa hadi chain ikakua lubed. Mtu aliosha am sure alikua na roho safi sana hadi nilifeel sifai kui-ride, nafaa niibebe kwa mgongo.

But kwanza, acha niiskize before niibebe. Kupiga start, a sharp noice came from the engine. Roho ikasimama kiasi ju nilijua hapa kuna ngori, hio sauti haikua normal na the more bike iliendelea kunguruma the more it sounded. So mec akasema nisiende nayo, akague tena. Kesho yake naambiwa ....

Piston na valve zililambana huko ndani 🙆‍♂️😭😭. Valve ilikua still intimate na head. Hapa the only solution was to buy another head.

Shida zangu zikaanzia hapo. Nikanunua head tukaweka. Two days later, wiring ikaanza kuleta issues. Kila siku lazima nipigie mec simu. Actually niliweka nambake kwa favorites na nikacram. Sijaai video call mwanamme but ilibidi.... screen imejaa mapua ya mwanamme akikushow, guza guza hio pipe iko hapo chini.. ... Irudishe ndani, imetoka nje, unaskia k**a ni hard? With other romantic questions 🙄🙄

imagine unataka kwenda job na bike imejam kuwaka 🙆‍♂️. Sisi hao video call!!! Mara nimekwama southern bypass, mara Nakuru, mara Timboroa... mashida was my middle name😒😭. I had even made friends with some pick up drivers just in case. Thank God sikuwahi kwama usiku..

Ilifika time nikiwasha bike na ingurume naanza kushuku kuna kitu haiko sawa, like lazima bike isumbue kwanza. Ikisumbua, then iko sawa.

I visited several garages, churches, shrines, witch doctors, goons for various bike fixes but no help bro. leo unafix fuel pump, kesho unafix piston slap. Ukimaliza another issue comes up! Hiss haifanyi. You sort, kiasi - relay zimechapa. Ukisort, solenoid inachapa.... ukisort, out of nowhere, fuse zote zinachapa for no reason, ukifix, TPS inaleta errors kwa dash - consumption goes higher..... punda si punda shooting coil zikaanza kushoot blanks nikidhani ni plugs.... nina zake 😒😩

Few months later the engine died and spent a whooping 380k to import another engine with 6 months of waiting

Nikapata newbie anadai bike few months later... asubuhi na mapema nikamuuzia! Dunia ni kubebeana mizigo 😩😩

lemme tell you maina! Nilikua nakohoa mbavu zinanidunga juu ya kukonda. Mshipi nilikua nafunga na shimo ya kwanza na mshavu ilikua imeingia ndani ungedhani am hechaivi patient zero💀

Kuna hii bike that I got from a garage. CBR600 ya 2006 with 30,000 kms. It looks closer to a virgin k**a ushaai deal na bikes coz most are over 70,000 kms, closer to menopause and more closer to death. Only prayers keep holding that bike together if not super glue.

So hii bike, mse alikua ananiconnect na mwenyewe akanishow hio bike inahitaji only a few touches and all will be good. Cosmetics tu ndio ilikua shida and with less than 50,000, the bike will be back to new. Hio time, sikutaka wasee wajue am getting a new bike. I was to shock them by appearing kipetero, kiyesu. Mimi na Yesu kukuja k**a mwizi, same whatsapp group! Actually we do consult each other story na kutokea unexpected...

The bike was a 4 cylinder, sounded angry, ready to race and one or two babes from the apartment where i lived who used to ignore my advances now started to say HI 👋

I felt like I have become a man now and I don't deserve respect. I take it, na sijaongelea kuwasha! Just turning it on made every tom, dick and harry vehicles in the basement scramble for safety coz the chwi chwi chwi alarms made the basement feel like a disco matanga pale ushago.

Back to the bike, one thing which made feel the bike had an issue ni kumeza fuel, forget about kunyonya.... kumeza! From Westlands to Thika, 18L is gone! 🙆‍♂️ Yaani Westlands to Thika, 3700 gone, which meant kwenda na kurudi, 7400 imelala hivyo.

So the first thing to do was valve clearance and fuel line clean up. This took a week to work on by my mec by then. Every day nilikua napitia huko kuona progress. Hakuna kitu mzuri k**a mec kukuona then anasonga kando kidogo kupigia bibi simu aweke maji ya ugali anakuja na nyama.... So kila siku, nilikua nawacha kathao hivi ka "encouragement" ndio anifanyie kazi safi.

So siku moja nikiwa job akanicall nipitie jioni nichukue bike.. Machozi tupu! 😒

Bro, the guys working here are foreigners. Nakushow the level of respect is way high! When you walk in, kwanza unasalimiwa na mikono mbili / miwili - depends k**a mwalimu wako alikua mluyha. Then, they show you a place to sit after umepark even if you can see the seats. After kuoshewa, they even offer to clean ur jacket and shoes which sometimes I refuse juu ya heshima. This guys can even lick the tire to ensure its clean.

Halafu patana na car wash zenye zime:employ wakenya... unaingia tu hivi, no one si bothered with you, its like you just walked into a ritual ceremony. Worst, unaitwa "tajiri" na hujakula lunch ndio uende carwash 🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️😩

Dear Friends,

​it is with deep sadness and great disbelief that we announce the passing away of our loved one, Alex Kamau Irungu which happened on Wednesday 30th September, 2026. The body has been moved to Umash Funeral Home (Kabati, near Kenol, Murang'a County) awaiting the final burial rites. Daily meetings in preparation for his funeral are being held at his family home in Nyayo Estate, Karimu Lane, House No. 421,Embakasi from Friday 2nd October, 2026 from 5:30pm..

The final journey to lay our beloved friend Alex shall take place on Thursday 8th October, 2026 in Gituga Village, Kangema Constituency, Murang'a County The family is requesting the biking community to attend the burial.
