Susanoo-no-Mikoto 70 Supra

Making appearances at multiple Zummy Racing events at Tsukuba this past season was this rare A70 Supra driven by Tetsuya Matsuo.

We first spotted the car at the opening Zummy event of the season on December 17, where it clocked a new PB of 1’02.732 on 265/35R18 A050s.
Powered by a 500ps 1.5JZ with a TD06-25G turbo and weighing over 1,500kg, the Real Tuning-spec Supra, running without aftermarket aero, became a familiar sight at Tsukuba throughout the season as Tetsuya continued chasing a dip into the 1’01s.

Although the PB from the opening round remained the car’s best result of the 2025/2026 campaign, hopefully we’ll see Tetsuya and his Supra back out again next season, reach his target time.

Light Blue Exige CR with OUTERPLUS

It was good to see Tom back behind the wheel of his Exige Club Racer again this past season, including a return to Attack Tsukuba for the first time in three years.

The goal was to better his 58.876 PB set at Attack Tsukuba way back in 2018 on 225/45R16(F), 255/40R17(R) A050s, though unfortunately the time remained unbeaten this season.

Even so, hopefully we’ll see Tom back out more regularly next year and finally lower his best at TC2000.

B-A-R Joyo Fudosan RSC300

Welcoming Kunihiko to IG with some shots from Attack Fuji 2026 held at Fuji Speedway on March 7.

This was Kunihiko’s first time at FSW, as well as his first entry in an Attack event on slick tires.

With the track surface still wet from the rainfall the night before, the RSC300 put down a 1’45.053 in its first session of the morning.

The second session in the afternoon saw the track completely dry, and Kunihiko improved his morning time to a 1’35.773, falling just short of the 1’35.615 set by Fire Ando in his ES**RT EVO 9 on Hoosier A7s back in 2021.

After the run, Kunihiko commented that he had been running with the speed limited to 290kph, but once the setup is dialed in and he gets more seat time at the track, he was confident we’d see the RSC300 in the 1’32 range.
Let’s hope we get a chance to see that become a reality soon.

ADVAN NEOVA AD09 FD3S

The weekend following Attack Tsukuba 2026, where Natsu set a new NA lap record in the MatsuKiyo MINIGT NA-7 by Amemiya FD3S, he was back at Tsukuba in his own car for the inaugural Attack Cat Run.
Running only the first session, Natsu was already in the 1’03s in his street car.

Hopefully we get to see him out again next season in both RX-7s, chasing even faster times.

BE CRAFT TA-1

After a 3 year hiatus, the FD3S from rotary tuner BE CRAFT in Ishikawa Prefecture returned to Tsukuba this past season with a completely new look.

Switching from its previous bright red to a full black exterior, the FD3S now wears an original aero kit paired with a Voltex rear wing. Entry specs for Attack Tsukuba 2026 listed the car at 750ps on a 1,000kg chassis.

Over the Attack Tsukuba weekend, Shoya put down a 56.282 on Practice Day, followed by a 57.600 at the main event the next day on 295/35R18 A050s. He fell short of his PB of 55.900 set at Attack Tsukuba 2023, his last outing at the circuit.

That said, his target time is now mid 53s, so hopefully we’ll see both him and the FD back next season for another shot.

KEPLA NAS Exige

We first saw this full dry carbon Exige make its debut at Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 in January, where it went on to take runner-up in the Import Car category.

A couple of weeks later, we caught it on track at a Zummy Racing Tsukuba event on January 28, where it immediately set a new PB of 58.453 on 225/45R16(F), 255/40R17(R) A050s.

Earning a place in the NA Class at Attack Tsukuba 2026, the team was held to a 59.082 at the main event, with unfortunate red flags and course cleanups before both Super Lap runs.

Still, what a debut year. Looking ahead to seeing it break into the 57s next season.

Suzuban Yellow No. 1 FD3S

We’ve grown used to seeing Suzuban in the Tsukuba paddock, supporting his customers over the years, most of them in their own FD3S.

That made it especially good to see the roles reversed last season, with Suzuban behind the wheel of his track-spec yellow FD3S at multiple events leading up to Attack Tsukuba 2026. Running in the Street Radial Tire Class on 265/35R18 RE-12D Type A, he was chasing a sub 60 second lap, getting closer each outing.

At the main event, he just missed it with a best lap of 1’00.982 but the very next weekend at the inaugural Attack Cat Track Day, he delivered, setting a 59.956 and successfully breaking into the 59s.

Hopefully we’ll see Suzuban and the RX-7 back at Tsukuba regularly next season as well, pushing for even quicker times.

Honda HRC PRELUDE-GT

As a Prelude (BB6) owner since I was 17, I never imagined I’d see the name return, let alone for it to race as a works car in Super GT.

After a 25 year absence from Honda’s lineup, the Prelude is back, and now, for the first time, it’s being raced at the top GT level.

I’ll admit, I’m not completely sold on the new BF1 Prelude, but hearing and seeing the name “Prelude” in Super GT hits differently.

Some shots here of friends, now fellow Prelude drivers, from the Super GT test at Fuji Speedway last month.

Looking forward to seeing how it performs this season, starting at Round 1 in Okayama this weekend!
