GFG Style was born in 2015 from the extraordinary experience in the field of car design of its founders, Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro. Giorgetto is known all over the world as one of the most successful designers in automotive history. Fabrizio has been active in car design, industrial design and the planning and development of car interiors and exteriors for public and private clientsfor over 30 years. They have been directly responsible for creating over 300 standard production models and more than 200 research prototypes fornumerous different manufacturers. GFG Style operates two premises in Moncalieri (Turin): its headquarters and an operational building. Fabrizio and Giorgetto Giugiaro have thus established the conditions that allow them to develop the personal skills to develop automotive projects with the facilities of a new styling centre that generates innovative ideas using the most futuristic simulation and virtual reality technologies; the development of models and styling prototypes benefits from the specialist collaboration agreements consolidated in 50 years of activity that the automotive district of Turin can offer. From the start, GFG Style was an important benchmark for car design, collaborating with numerous Asian and European car makers. Today it offers the motor industry a wide range of services and consultancy, centred on the conception, design and development of new vehicles and products: from styling to feasibility, modelling and prototyping, right down to the construction of show cars.

Giorgetto Giugiario was the featured artist of the 15th edition of Panchine d'Artista Vigone, a project organized by the Municipality of Vigone (TO) that each year invites an internationally renowned artist to create a sculptural bench - which becomes part of the public heritage - and accompanies it with a solo exhibition hosted in the former Chiesa del Gesù in Piazza Michele Baretta.

The bench - titled “Totem”, effectively a one-of-a-kind piece - has been installed in the green space along the avenues of the former Vigone train station, which will soon be converted into a new cultural hub. The unveiling on Friday, October 16, was followed by the opening of the exhibition “Giorgetto Giugiaro e l’arte totale”, dedicated primarily to the car designs that made the designer famous, from the first sketches shown to Nuccio Bertone in 1959 to the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 project. Accompanying the drawings is the real model of the iconic 1963 Chevrolet Testudo concept car, from the collection of Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro. The exhibition will remain open to the public through December 20.

One of just 24 hand-built examples, the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival brings one of Giorgetto Giugiaro’s most iconic early designs back to life, celebrating the uncompromising spirit of the original sports car realized by Giotto Bizzarrini.

The project preserves the extraordinary proportions of the original: an extremely low and sculptural body, a long front section defined by its characteristic twin air outlets and a compact passenger compartment pushed towards the rear. Beneath the lightweight one-piece composite body, the front-mid-mounted V8 allows an almost perfect 50:50 weight distribution, one of the fundamental principles of the original engineering concept.

Fabrizio Giugiaro’s passion for sport driving is well known, as is his desire to innovate and play with automotive icons, even if it means coming across as provocative. This approach has always put him on the same wavelength as another iconoclast, Lapo Elkann, with whom he shares a long-standing friendship. After knowing each other for many years, the two decided to take their friendship a step further through a professional collaboration: the result is two special, unconventional Topolino models that turn the role and appearance of the Fiat city car on its head.

The Top. L is the most exciting and sporty interpretation of the project: a two-seater, fully open-top car with clean lines and a distinctly sporty character. A minimalist, almost brutal design that reinterprets the Topolino through the language of small open-top sports cars, without losing the lightness and charm of the original model.

Last weekend, the Concorso d’Eleganza Festival Car took place between Santena and Revigliasco Torinese, and GFG Style couldn’t miss it.

Following the success of the world premiere at the Salone Auto Torino, and by popular demand, we presented the one-offs Top. L and Top. J - two never-before-seen interpretations of the new Fiat Topolino created by Fabrizio Giugiaro in collaboration with Lapo Elkann - flanked by the iconic Bugatti EB 112 from the Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro Collection, a display of nearly 50 cars, concepts, prototypes, and design models that trace the extraordinary creative journey of father and son, now officially recognized as a museum within the the ASI - Automotoclub Storico Italiano network.

Fabrizio Giugiaro, who attended the event as a judge for the Concours d’Elegance, explained how the Top. L and Top. J projects stem from a long-standing friendship between him and Lapo, their shared love for cars and design, and the desire to take one of the smallest and most affordable cars on the market and experiment with it, transforming it into something surprising that evokes excitement and fun.

The second edition of Salerno Design Week opened on Wednesday, the 16th, with the exhibition “Il segno che diventa leggenda (The mark that becomes a legend)”, dedicated to the career of Giorgetto Giugiaro.

The exhibition, running through Sunday at the Diocesan Museum and curated by Studio Opera LTB, showcases some of his most iconic projects, highlighting both Giorgetto’s artistic and industrial sides: alongside some of the most famous objects and cars realized by the “car designer of the century” - such as the DeLorean DMC12 - are displayed original paintings and hand-drawn sketches.

During the speech that followed the opening - in which Giugiaro shared his personal and professional experiences, delighting the audience with the richness and variety of his anecdotes - the event organizers presented the master with a lifetime achievement award.

This year’s Salone Auto Torino was a huge success, allowing GFG Style to showcase to the public the wide range of services it offers, embodied in a selection of cars that was more extensive than ever before.

At the design center’s booth in the Giardino Ducale, visitors could admire not only the Top. J and the Top. L - the two special-edition Fiat Topolino models born from the unprecedented collaboration between Fabrizio Giugiaro and Lapo Elkann - but also various other models that exemplify the Giugiaro’s past, present, and future, straight from the Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro collection - which is part of the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) museum network.

All the cars on display are, in different ways and for different reasons, milestones: the Bugatti EB112, a sedan that redefines the legend of the famous automaker, combining elegance and sportiness in an innovative way, the Aston Martin Twenty Twenty, an open-top two-seater with an exposed frame that envisions the sports car of the future according to the British brand, the GFG Kangaroo, representing Fabrizio’s exploration of the Hyper SUV segment which he actually helped define, and the Bizzarrini 5300 GT Corsa Revival Centenario Edition, which creates a direct bridge between the design and engineering culture of the 1960s and a new generation of collectors.

The Top. L and Top. J were born from Fabrizio Giugiaro and Lapo Elkann’s shared passion for cars and design: an unprecedented collaboration that has produced two radically different interpretations of the new Fiat Topolino. These two small exercises in creative freedom are destined to mark the beginning of a journey that Fabrizio and Lapo intend to continue over time.

The two models will be unveiled today at a special press conference at the Salone Auto Torino.

Top. L embodies the project’s most emotional and sporty spirit: a completely open two-seater, stripped of all superfluous elements and transformed into a small speedster with a bold character. Top. J, on the other hand, completely changes the rules of the game: four seats in a Topolino less than three meters long, arranged back-to-back. A totally unprecedented configuration, created to explore just how far the simplicity of this car can go.

This edition of Concours Croatia - a two-day, world-class gathering featuring old and new motoring icons, set amid emerald-green pine forests and views of turquoise seas - was a trip down memory lane for GFG Style and Fabrizio Giugiaro, who was one of the event’s main guests.

During the car exhibition, he presented two models that have shaped Giugiaro’s legacy, both drawn from his private collection, which has now become part of the ASI Automotoclub Storico Italiano museum network: the Bugatti EB112 and the Aston Martin Twenty Twenty.

At first glance, it looks like a perfectly preserved classic car from the 1960s; in reality, it’s a thoroughly contemporary model, built today based on a design by Giorgetto Giugiaro that had remained on paper for decades.

The Bizzarrini 5300 Aperta Lusso is built around a single-piece carbon-fibre composite body, one of the largest of its type in the world. The semi-monocoque bonded chassis approach yields a body that is simultaneously structure and sculpture. The roof has been removed without compromising structural integrity, thanks to a bespoke steel reinforcement assembly added to the transmission tunnel along with a cross-body bar to surpass the torsional rigidity of the 60’s coupe.

A sports car driven on the beach that delivers top-level performance? It’s possible, if the car in question is something more than just a sports car: the Kangaroo is, in fact, a Hyper SUV, the first one created by GFG Style in 2019.

This type of vehicle - which designer Fabrizio Giugiaro has helped define over the past twenty years - combines adaptability to any type of terrain with peak performance, all powered by a full-electric powertrain.
