From 2D to 3D artworks, the use of vinyl replicates that of the finish of the real car being depicted, and therefore offers a look and feel that no other medium can hope to achieve. Bluebird 2.0

Having first created an artwork on this same scene over 10 years ago, I wanted to revisit the picture to create a brand new 2.0 edition… to see how my work has developed over time. Bluebird 2.0 depicts the ultimate ‘speed icon’ while in preparation for the world land speed record on Lake Eyre in Australia on 17 July 1964. It is created from 100's of hand-cut coloured vinyl shapes being applied in the form of a collage/jigsaw, and finished with a clear lacquer finish.
