Hand-cut vinyl Automotive Art. Shop online here: https://joelclarkartist.store/ Speed Icons features unique automotive art created from hand-cut vinyl.

From 2D to 3D artworks, the use of vinyl replicates that of the finish of the real car being depicted, and therefore offers a look and feel that no other medium can hope to achieve. Commissions are always welcome, and signed, ltd edition prints are also available of all the artworks, along with a series of open edition poster-style prints.

Not only can you fill up on great food at Food&Fuel this Saturday at Bicester Motion, but you can also fill your walls with some awesome auto art! I’ll be in the hanger, so pop by and say hello if you’re visiting.

Rain stopped play for me on the Sunday of Kop Hill Climb Festival, so after a successful Saturday, I took the chance for a soggy stroll around the show to capture just a wee flavour of the variety of cars displayed/running up the hill.

This weekend I’ll be back to Kop Hill Climb (sunny forecast, thankfully) with a selection of artworks including everything from hand-cut vinyl originals, through to posters and stickers. Here’s just a few examples of the pieces on show/available, but I’ll add more during the week’s build-up. If any followers are attending, be sure to pop by the stand and say hello!

Bluebird 2.0

This is an original 1/1 artwork.

Hand-cut vinyl applied to A1 perspex panel.

Having first created an artwork on this same scene over 10 years ago, I wanted to revisit the picture to create a brand new 2.0 edition… to see how my work has developed over time. Bluebird 2.0 depicts the ultimate ‘speed icon’ while in preparation for the world land speed record on Lake Eyre in Australia on 17 July 1964. It is created from 100's of hand-cut coloured vinyl shapes being applied in the form of a collage/jigsaw, and finished with a clear lacquer finish.

The eighth piece in an on-going series of miniature 1/1 original artworks (no single print editions will be available) featuring abstract crops of iconic racing liveries. This artwork features a personal favourite, the Vaillant Porsche 911. Based on a photo of mine taken at Scramblers by Bicester Motion. It is presented in a black 12x12in frame

This is an original 1/1 artwork.

Hand-cut vinyl applied to 7x5in artboard.

The seventh piece in an on-going series of miniature 1/1 original artworks (no single print editions will be available) featuring abstract crops of iconic racing liveries. This artwork features a true 90’s legend both on and in the car! Nigel Mansell’s Williams ‘red 5’ is one of the era’s most recognisable liveries. It is presented in a black 12x12in frame
