I wasted a lot of time to make this thing working as I intended, leaving the outside as clean and simple as possible while moving all the mechanical part inside the big fork legs. I wanted for the virtual line made by the brake cable to "close" at the very edge of the tail, nobody will probably ever see it, but I know it's there and that satisfy my OCD...

The starting procedure is still "bike thief" style, but I managed to connect the two pipes together in between the two cylinders and after messing a bit with the carbs tuning I'm happy with how more "round" it sounds. There is also a lot more intake noise, wich is always good, and the pipes are already turning to a nice gold color. This one might turn out pretty good after all...

Not your average xv/tr-1 engine
Been working on this new project from a while now. A more "classic" cafe racer based on a '81 Yamaha Tr-1.
Somebody call it the "poor man's Vincent", so I decided to push things a bit and give it a twist (pun intended).
Ended up flipping the rear head without actually flipping it... had to weld and modify the valve seats and mess a lot with camshafts and timing. All the parts inside are NOS or uprated.
First time cranking it.
It didn't explode.
So it feels like success!
This one should be road legal in Switzerland, so I can't go too crazy with it.
I will connect the two pipes together later on to try making it sound smoother.
Thanks for the IMMENSE help!

-We have the exact same briefcase-
My friends at squeezed together all the pain and suffering of the Blackbird "ink-job" madness in a nice 1 minute video making it look kinda easy.
In the real world that meant months of tests, thousands phone calls and some meticulous professionalism (AKA having some huge iron balls)!
Only if you saw the bike live you can fully appreciate the quality of the job, it is next level, thanks again guys!

Years go by but my "Magnum" face game is still strong...

Just found this "old" Zero Blackbird testride I completely forgot about. The road near the workshop looked like it was bombed, but I guess it fits with the bike mood.
And yes, the attitude indicator looks so silly, but I love it!

So happy to show the Zero "Blackbird" in her final form for the very first time at one of my favourite events ever:
BIKE SHED MOTORCYCLESHOW, 27th-29th May, To***co Docks, LONDON!
Can't wait, see you there!

Keeping this thing hidden for this long wasn't an easy task, but with it being a "stealth" bike, it kinda makes sense I guess.
The "ink-coating" performed by Paint Republic is a trip on its own but almost impossible to catch properly on camera. The bike is a very deep chrome-like black until the sun touches it. Only then you can see the aluminium of the bodywork underneath and a full spectrum of reflections together with a handful of hidden details. So stoked for the result!
Needless to say I'm more than thrilled to show the Zero "Blackbird" in her final form for the very first time at one of my favourite events ever:

A big shout-out to Vinco Racing Alessandro mattioli and Paint Republic , and a warm thank you to all the friends who helped with ideas, suggestions or a cold beer Sami Panseri Michael D'Angiolo Massimo Fuchs Rinchiuso Ivan Motta and Tworight Hands (you are a fu***ng psycho my friend)
