An unforgettable drive from Bangalore to Wayanad.. with Bangalore.. A must go place if you are an offroad person.. I am not but tried for the first time and it was worth every moment. The thrill and the experience is just indescribable.. you got to be there to feel it. Even though we had to fight with the locals to let us go and they were adamant not to allow us , we girls gang could convince them that its 4x4 and can handle this terrian.. still have to learn more about 4H and 4L in isuzu but can say that can understand how to handle the car better.. took it like a new challenge and completed it like a pro.. also amazed at my own capability as never knew that I could do this too.. may as didn't knew that what's in store is also good I its own way. Sometimes you are more prepared that you know to handle uncertain n unknown situations than the ones you are aware about. Go out and let life give you challenges, just be ready to accept them and have faith in your own strength.

Amazing..

Amazing..

That...was...brutal! I'd smile but I'm too exhausted 🤣 3 hour extreme enduro and even Buddy needs a lie down. My 9th ever race and pleased to have come 19th of 39 sportsman class riders but man that was hard. I had to dig really deep. The toughest part for me was how much my hip hurt. Being 6 months post my 5th surgery the ruts, deep mud and gnarly terrain was a huge killer for me. Paddling and relying on my legs almost continually, it's made me realise quite how much more rehab work I have to do. I'll be resting for at least a day but then it's going to be full speed physio. I'm not giving up! I know this body can do better 👊🏼

So my brain...after that race...is rather dead so if you have any interesting captions for this one, let's hear them?? 🤣

There was one terrifying moment when I ended up at the bottom of a three bike pile up...thank goodness for my Leatt Protectives X frame knee braces - they 100% saved my leg 🦵🏼😵

Now...to sort kit, clean bikes AND rest!! What an epic day. Thanks to WOR Events for a mega race and Michelin Motorcycle for making tyres that can actually handle that gunk!!

Few more moments from the journey called life. Hope you like it!!

A friend, daughter, wife, mom, traveller, professional, fighter, daughter-in-law & a driver – different shades of me.
I have a small family of me, my husband and a son, in addition both our moms (my mom and my mother-in-law) live with us in Mumbai.

As a little girl I always loved traveling and spending time with my family. Never knew when got into driving, but there was this zeal to grow up asap and drive my own car one day. There were times when I felt like running away from everyone and got solace while driving and other times just for fun with friends and loved ones.
Born and brought-up in Delhi, I am a proud Delhite. With friends and family to die for and attitude to just take over the whole world.

This is the part of my story from 1981 till 2001 (School / College..)
Since we were kids (me & my brother), we used to travel across India at-least 3 times in a year.
Main places visited: It will generally be across India anywhere from Shimla, Mussoorie, Haridwar (every year), Dehradun, an annual trip to Vaishnu devi in Jammu, Kashmir, Mumbai, Orissa (Jaganath Puri), Bangalore, Agra (Taj mahal), Mumbai, Nanitaal (Corbet National Park), Chandigarh, Amritsar (Golden Temple), etc
Always ready to explore new places and connect with people. I believe in a philosophy of “Live and Let Live” and its one life so let’s live it fully.

My dad was a foodie and so am I, we would try local delicacies and enjoy the location. As a kid, I loved the Har ki Pauri in Haridwar, Sulphur shower in Dehradun, Maal road in Shimla & Manali. It was fun. As we used to travel in big groups (courtesy my dad’s official travel committee), they will cook the food on the way so that we can get fresh breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, no matter where we used to halt.

A story which I can remember and can share is of Kufri (it’s a place near Shimla) which is generally snow filled during winters. I remember my first experience of snow and playing with snow balls. We were almost frozen and as it was far so my dad booked horses for us (me & my little brother). It was a terrifying experience as it was difficult for the horse to balance and I almost fell once while it was trying to take a turn. Thinking about it now we really were out there and exploring new places year after year and making wonderful memories.

My first ever Airplane experience was when my school planned a day tour to Gwalior (Pink City) from Delhi. It was just a 15 mins flight but as it was my first one so will always be special with my best friend at that time (Deepti Malik). I might be just 9yrs old (1990).
1998 to 2001 (College life) – Not too many trips but one special excursion trip will always be in my special memories. So, I was a Biology student and we used to collect specimen of plants, ferns, insects, etc.. from different places. In second year, we went to Nanitaal (a hill station around 280kms from Delhi) with all my classmates and friends for 4days. Loved the place and we really enjoyed the most as Nanitaal has lot of offer; from weather to greenery to mountains to guest houses build on the hills. There were those sweet moments with friends where you fight and then again make up, I forgot my bag (which had camera) in the guest house with lot of stairs and no one was ready to go and get it as it was on top of the hill and was steep. At that time a friend helped despite of our silly differences at that time, these times of need and friendship make you understand your true friends.

2001-2007: By this time I got my own car (Swift in 2005) and also started working but lost my dad and brother in the journey called life.
Main places visited: Jaipur, Alwar, Mussoorie, Chennai, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Shivpuri, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Haridwar, Shimla, Pondichery.

Not sure about the exact moment when driving became my passion, but it was always a way to liberate and when I met my husband we both connected the most for our love to travel. Even though he likes the mountains and I am a Sea baby but we could manage those small differences and agreed to get the best of both the worlds.

This will be further continued with some special stories which are important part of my life…

Women – Cars – Club
“Always on the driving seat!!”
I love driving which is always encouraged by my family – my dad, mom, and now my husband!!
Somehow since I was a child I just wanted to drive, it got related to a feeling of freedom and contentment. I don’t think I can ever explain my love for driving but there was an enormous want even though we belonged to the middle class and I was not sure when and how we will be able to buy a car but I always wanted to drive.
Then my dad purchased a second hand Maruti 800 in 2001, which he said is for learning purpose and I & my brother should ensure that we drive it enough. I remember the fight between me and my brother for who will be taking it today. I completed my college and he was entering hotel management. It was fun to get up early in the morning and clean it, as the only condition was that who so ever will clean it will get to take it…….. “Those were the days”...
I still have arguments with my husband on who will drive during our long as we both like to drive and no one wants to sit on the next seat...
I bought my first car in 2005, it was a Swift (Maruti) and I just loved it. I named it Pamela. So smooth to drive with a good average, less maintenance, and was with me till 2017. It stayed with me for 11 years and I wish I could keep it forever….. but we were buying a monster truck so had to sell it.
2005-2017: more than a decade. It was with me, followed me wherever I went. From Delhi to Chennai to Bangalore to Shimla to Chandigarh to Rishikesh to Haridwar to Pondicherry………………………….. and many more.
Started WCC around 2008, while trying to connect with other women of similar interest. But then soon I got married 😉 and due to work, I was traveling to different locations...
In October 2017, we bought ISUZU – DMAX and the rest is history. Few drives to mention that will always be special are - Spiti Valley in 2017 (Mumbai to Spiti), Times Women Drive in 2018 (Mumbai to Goa), and painstakingly the countless to and fros between Mira Road and Goregaon for work 😉

To be continued………
