⛽ We've all heard the story…

“I know a fella who put petrol in his diesel…” 😬

It sounds like one of those mistakes you'd *never* make — until you're distracted at the pump! So our first tip is simple: ALWAYS double-check before you fill up.

But it's not just the type of fuel that matters. Fuel quality matters too, particularly with modern diesel engines.

Poor or contaminated diesel can potentially cause problems with:

🔧 Fuel injectors
🔧 Fuel pumps
🔧 Fuel filters
🔧 Starting and engine performance
🔧 The wider fuel system — and potentially a very expensive repair bill!

So know what you're putting into your car and use a filling station you trust.

And if you've put the wrong fuel in? Don't start the engine! Give us a call and get advice before going any further.

⚡ Car Care Tip: Don't forget about your spark plugs!

They're small, but spark plugs play a big part in keeping a petrol engine running properly.

Some signs your spark plugs may need attention include:

🔧 Difficulty starting
🔧 Rough or uneven idling
🔧 Poor acceleration
🔧 Increased fuel consumption
🔧 Engine misfires

Spark plugs are normally inspected or replaced at manufacturer-recommended intervals, so keeping on top of your servicing is the easiest way to avoid problems.
