POST CLASSIC FEST HANGOVER 🤕🔥

Well... the dust has settled, the gazebo is packed away, and the body is reminding me I'm not 21 anymore. 😅

Months of planning, late nights, countless cups of coffee and more stress than I'd care to admit all came down to one day at Classic Fest .

The weather tried its best to spoil the party, but the rain never dampened the atmosphere. Seeing the covers come off the Joey Dunlop SP1 Replica and watching Malcolm Donnellan reaction made every single hour worthwhile. The relief, pride and emotion in that moment is something I'll never forget.

As a lifelong Joey Dunlop fan, this project has been incredibly special to me. To be trusted with creating a tribute to one of motorcycling's greatest legends is something I'll always be proud of. It's without doubt my favourite project TheBikeBuffs has completed so far.

A massive thank you to Malcolm for putting his trust in us. It was an honour to be part of your vision.

For a small business like TheBikeBuffs, moments like this mean everything. Seeing people stop, admire the bike, chat about the work and support what we do reminds me exactly why I started this journey.

2027 plans are already being discussed... and if this year is anything to go by, we'll be coming back bigger and better.

🔥 CLASSIC FEST WEEKEND IS HERE!🔥

What. A. Week.

The kettle barely had time to boil, the polishing machines haven't stopped spinning, and we're fairly sure Wally hasn't slept since Tuesday. 😅
Between TheBikeBuffs, Polishing Technologies Ireland , and Wally's Custom's, we've been putting in the hours to make sure everything is looking its absolute best for Classic Fest.

Blood, sweat, coffee, and probably a few questionable decisions have gone into getting these machines ready.

Our good friend Jason Dunne Fiberman will be pulling the covers off the legendary Joey Dunlop SP1, and trust us, it's one you won't want to miss. 👀

Gates open at 11am, so get yourself down early and check out some absolute weapons on two wheels and four. From immaculate restorations to jaw-dropping customs, there's something for every petrolhead.

🚨 Coated Bike Maintenance 101 🚨

People think once a bike is ceramic coated it needs some sort of NASA-approved maintenance schedule... it doesn't. 😅

Maintaining a coated bike is about as difficult as sticking the dinner plates in the dishwasher (and for some of ye, even that's a challenge 🤣).

Here's the process:

✅ Rinse the bike to remove heavy dirt and grime.

✅ Apply Feynlab Rinseless at a dilution ratio of 1:200.

✅ Sit back, admire your handiwork and let it dwell.

✅ Rinse off with low-pressure water.

✅ Air dry or towel dry.

✅ Every few washes, give it a quick top-up with Feynlab Hybrid Detailer to keep that gloss popping and protection topped up.

That's it. No scrubbing. No standing there questioning your life choices. No sacrificing a Sunday afternoon.

A properly coated bike sheds dirt easier, cleans quicker and stays looking fresher for longer.

Today's been absolute carnage in the workshop! 🤯

Classic Fest prep is well and truly underway and the pressure is on. Bikes everywhere, parts everywhere, and somehow every bit of grease that was on the SP1 has magically transferred itself onto me. 😜

Even Wally from Wally's Custom's has been spotted down on his knees helping to get these machines show-ready. We're not saying miracles happen... but it's close enough! 😂

The SP1 is coming together nicely and we're flat out trying to squeeze 36 hours' work into a 24-hour day.

On top of all that, we've got something completely new coming soon...

Yamaha R1 – Part 3: The Final Chapter 🔥🏍️

From tired and TFR damaged… to showroom savage.

This R1 has been through major surgery over the past few weeks and now it’s time for the finishing touches.

Every panel corrected. Every surface refined. Every detail obsessed over.

We locked in the finish with Feynlab Ceramic V3, treated the wheels & calipers, then IR baked the coating to perfection for maximum durability and gloss. The transformation on this bike has honestly been unreal.

The depth in the paint.
The shine off the wheels.
The crisp white fairings against the red frame.
Pure Yamaha aggression brought back to life.

This one became a labour of love in the workshop and truth be told… if we could’ve kept her, we probably would have 😅

But she’s heading back to her rightful owner fully protected, easier to maintain and ready for the road once again.

And Joe… maintenance washes now take minutes mate, so there’s absolutely no excuse for those lazy car wash trips anymore 😜
