Jimmy was far ahead of the curve with regards climate change and sustainability. Midway through his own 4 year Administration, and faced with the second opec oil shock, put forward a goal for producing twenty per cent of the country’s energy from renewable resources by the year 2000. If only he’d stayed in for a second term, who knows the impact we could have seen on the environment today.
