🔥 | Week 1: 3D Printed Cold Plates for Extreme Power Density

When designing a motor controller package like the F-SiC that’s ultra-compact and incredibly power-dense, every gram and every cubic centimeter counts.
To meet these demands, we didn’t just optimize—we reinvented.
The result? A custom 3D-printed cold plate, built from the ground up to support the thermal loads of the SiC power stages inside, without sacrificing size or weight.

🔍 Why this matters:
💡 Lightweight by design – 3D printing enabled complex internal flow channels that traditional machining simply couldn’t deliver.
💡 High thermal efficiency – Pressure and velocity-optimized geometry, validated with CFD.
💡 Compact and integrated – Cooling is no longer an add-on; it’s built into right into the middle of the structure.

Thrilled to share that the Helios Horizon flight team, utilizing our motor control system, has set a new world record for altitude near the Minden-Tahoe Airport (KMEV)! 🏆✈️

🌍 The modified glider soared to nearly 16,000 feet, surpassing the previous record of 10,000 feet for electric aircraft weighing less than 500 kilograms. A huge appreciation to Pilot Miguel A. Iturmendi-Copado, a key player in the Solar Impulse Foundation project, who recently reached an impressive 20,000 feet.
