A common story:

“The tires look fine… I’ll ride one more season”
And then:
slippery feel, vibrations, unstable cornering.
Most of the time — it’s the tires.

Let’s break it down 👇
Age matters
Even if the tread looks good, it doesn’t mean the tire is safe.
After 5–6 years, rubber hardens and loses grip.

📍 Check the date on the sidewall
Tread is not just a pattern
Every tire has wear indicators.
When the tread reaches them — it’s done.

Used tires = a gamble
Looks okay ≠ safe

You don’t know:
— its real age
— how it was stored
— if it was damaged

Sometimes this “saving” costs much more later.

New tires need a break-in
They are slippery due to a protective coating.

First 100–150 km:
— ride smooth
— no aggressive moves
— no hard leaning
Balancing is a must
No balancing = vibrations at speed
And that can lead to loss of control

❗️ Also:
front and rear tires have direction — don’t mix it up

Good tires are not about comfort
They are about control, braking, and your safety.

Brake Fluid — The Often Overlooked Component
Brakes are not just about pads and discs.
Brake fluid plays a critical role.
Here’s why 👇
What happens over time?
Brake fluid is hygroscopic — it absorbs moisture from the air.
This lowers its boiling point.

What does that mean in real riding?
Under heavy braking, the fluid can start to boil.
👉 When moisture in the brake fluid boils, gas is formed, which makes the system compressible and causes the brake lever or pedal to sink.
In simple terms — your brakes can fail when you need them most.

Why is this dangerous?
Healthy, moisture-free brake fluid is nearly incompressible.
That’s what gives you firm and predictable braking.
Once moisture gets in —
performance drops and overheating risk increases.

Additional factors:
— moisture can cause internal corrosion
— braking response becomes less precise
— stopping distance increases

When to change it?
📍 Every 1–2 years
📍 More often if you ride aggressively

Conclusion
Brake fluid is not something to postpone
It’s directly related to your safety

— are properly taken care of
— get serviced on time
— don’t have a “I’ll fix it later” attitude
— bring joy to their owners

It doesn’t matter if it’s a sportbike, naked, touring, or classic —
what matters is the condition.

Because a great motorcycle is not just about the brand.
It’s about how you treat it.
