Mechanically minded folks / Scania mechanics!

We are in a bit of a dilemma. Our Scania L94 (year 1999) T825 is putting water into the oil and as a result turning the oil to milk.

Any advice on oil cooler issues or head gasket problems would be greatly appreciated, even ways to test how the water may be getting in would be appreciated!

After a rather busy few weeks we have decided to take a breather from the bus world for a few weeks. With full time jobs and other personal projects which have been put on hold to get buses through MOTs and to events, we have decided to take the time now to have the buses parked up for a month or so until the summer season really kicks off to get those personal projects finished off which have been put on hold.

Here’s a few pictures of the year so far!!

Thanks for everyone who has attended shows/trips out and supported us so far with our preservation journey. Stay tuned as we aren’t going anywhere, just taking a breather!!

A massive thank you to everyone who turned up yesterday for the running day, a great turnout for our first event, we plan to host more of these in the future, hopefully with some more guest vehicles…

A special mention to Alexander Clough for bringing his lovely Dennis Dart along for a ride around, it was a hit with the enthusiasts for sure!

And a thanks goes out to Aaron who kindly gave up his weekend to help sort the Floline mechanically ready for the event. We don’t think it would have made it without your helping hand.

And a final thank you to everyone who was involved behind the scenes who made it all happen!

Inspections all done ready for tomorrow.
Floline all serviced and ready for the show season this year running better than before.
Just a quick clean for them both tomorrow morning!

📣 Announcement 📣
Twilight running evening confirmed!!

With the great positive response from last weeks post regarding a running event, we are happy to announce our first ever running event WILL be happening on Monday the 6th of April (Bank holiday Monday)

Both buses will be on stand at Memorial gardens from just before 3pm UNTIL 3:30pm this gives the drivers their required break after the Private run as we like to keep things legal.
The run will go ahead as follows…

Leave Memorial gardens @3:30pm
1) Drive around the new road with photo stops. (Leeman Road)
2) Back through York to Clifford’s tower for photos, then through to exhibition square via the station.
5) Rawcliffe park and ride photos if requested.
6) Onto Easingwold marketplace (A19 thrash) where we will have 30 mins to get some food/ drink
7) Then country back roads to Crayke for our final picture spot.
Finished with the 40 route back into York to memorial gardens where the run will Finish.

We hope to see you from 3pm onwards Leaving at 3:30pm

Afternoon all!

Some of the members have been having discussions about hosting a small running event in and around the York area. (Excluding our base/depot) We have a planned private outing from 12-3pm on Easter Monday (6th April)

Just to gauge some interest in what we have been discussing, would our followers/friends of followers/any enthusiasts like the idea of us hosting a twilight running evening from 3pm onwards on Monday the 6th April?

To vote YES for this please comment a thumbs up in the comments section and if NOT, a thumbs down.

The buses that will be available will be T825 andY445.

We will give this post a week to gauge interest and post a follow up with the final decision!

It goes without saying, Everyone is welcome to come along, and of course it’s FREE!

Good news!

After a weeks’ sleepover at First York, CUB has been out this weekend and is driving spot on. Once again, many thanks to all involved in the engineering team for making this happen, we appreciate it a lot!

Keep your eyes peeled for further outings this season.

Also massive thanks to Chris Thompson for helping with the destination blinds, hopefully to be sorted this week.

Y445 CUB Update:

Cub is currently visiting our friends at First York for some repair work regarding the video we posted in early February.
Below is some of the engine loom wiring that was discovered. Safe to say it was very burnt, broken and rotten. This is the leading cause of the J1939 fault as the ECUs were not communicating properly with each-other, which in turn was throwing up the faults shown in the video.
The New loom is getting made to Volvo specifications. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates.
