Paddle Shifter Retrofit & Diagnostic Session – Insignia B

Car came in for a paddle shifter retrofit, with parts supplied by the customer. Wiring was added and the required coding/programming carried out, enabling the paddle shifters to work perfectly as factory.

While the vehicle was in, the customer also asked me to diagnose an issue with the roof/interior lights, which were completely inoperative. Further investigation revealed a corroded connector, causing a loss of power.

Retrofit completed & fault diagnosed. 😁

Diagnostic Session – Corsa F (ABS Fault)

I recently carried out an in-depth diagnostic session on a Corsa F that was displaying multiple warning lights on the instrument cluster, including an ABS fault. While I don’t often work on PSA-based platforms, this was a great opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how their systems operate.

Using live data and targeted fault-finding, the issue was traced to a split wire on an ABS wheel speed sensor. As the ABS system shares data with several other vehicle systems, this single wiring fault was enough to trigger multiple warning lights.

The damaged wiring was repaired correctly, restoring proper sensor signals. All warning lights cleared, and the vehicle was safe to drive away.

Climate Menu Touch Display – Insignia A

I’ve been working on an interesting project exploring ways to unlock additional features on the Insignia A (2014-2017). After previously enabling the climate menu display on the Astra K, I spent the last few days investigating whether similar functionality could be activated on the Insignia A.

I’m happy to say that with a lot of testing and progress, we’ve successfully enabled extra climate menu functionality that was previously hidden but already supported by the system.

After extensive development and validation, this software update is now available for Insignia A (2015-2016) models equipped with:
• Navi 900 (HMI 2.5)
• Dual Zone Climate Control

I’m currently working on sourcing and testing the software for HMI 2.0, so hopefully I’ll be able to announce support for this version soon.

HMI 2.5 Retrofit on Insignia A & Intellilink R4.0 Retrofit on Adam

It’s been a busy period recently and I haven’t had much time to share the work happening behind the scenes, but here’s one worth posting.

I travelled out to a local customer to complete a pair of retrofits on a father and daughter’s vehicles: a Vauxhall Insignia A and a Vauxhall Adam.

The Insignia received a full HMI 2.5 upgrade, bringing it up to the newer infotainment platform with improved performance, better compatibility, and a much more modern user experience. The Adam was upgraded with Intellilink R4.0, giving it factory-level smartphone integration, enhanced navigation options, and a cleaner, far more responsive interface compared to the original unit.

They opted for OEM radio units instead of aftermarket solutions. With our custom wiring and specialist programming, everything operates exactly as intended, including full Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Both vehicles turned out perfectly, and the owners were absolutely over the moon with the results.

Two cars, two upgrades, one very happy family. 😁

🚗 Paddle Shifter Module – Coming Soon! 🚗

We’re excited to reveal a brand-new solution we’ve been developing for Vauxhall and Opel enthusiasts, the Paddle Shifter Retrofit Module.

This module is perfect for vehicles where paddle shifters are tricky to program, or simply weren’t available from the factory. With our design, you can finally enjoy the thrill of manual-style shifting without the hassle.

Here’s how it works: a simple tap on a paddle instantly activates manual mode. After a short, adjustable timer, the system automatically returns to Drive, giving you total control when you want it, and comfort when you don’t.

We’ll be launching a limited first batch very soon, available in two versions:
1️⃣ Complete Kit – Includes paddles ready to fit to your steering wheel.
2️⃣ Module-Only – For those supplying their own paddle-equipped steering wheel.

Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Delete Service

Tired of that persistent tyre pressure warning on your Vauxhall or Opel dash?

Over the past few months, I’ve helped several customers by disabling the TPMS warning — especially when it’s causing an MOT failure due to faulty sensors or missing data. This is typically a temporary solution to help the vehicle pass its MOT while waiting for replacement parts.

Once reprogrammed, there’ll be no warning symbols, no tyre pressure messages, and no TPMS menu on the dash. Just a clean display — and a happy customer!

Activation of Follow-Me-Home Lighting on Astra K (2017)

A customer travelled from London to have rear LED taillights and EcoLED headlights retrofitted to his 2017 Astra K. The retrofit was completed successfully. Additionally, the customer requested activation of the follow-me-home lighting feature — a function not typically available on this model.

Recognising that the functionality was technically feasible, I took on the challenge of identifying and modifying the appropriate byte within the vehicle’s software. I’m pleased to report that the feature was successfully enabled, and the customer was highly satisfied with the result. 😁

This feature falls under the vehicle’s exit lighting configuration and can be set to remain active for 30, 60, or 120 seconds — as demonstrated in the customer’s own video.

Tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) delete for insignia A 2014

One of the first jobs of 2025 involves disabling the TPMS on the customer's insignia. He reached out to me last month to request that I delete the TPMS on his insignia. As the TPMS failure can cause the car's MOT to fail, this is usually a temporary solution to pass the MOT before a new part can be sourced.

The customer is happy with the outcome after the programming was completed!
