Day one…..

RRS in today for replacement engine mounts and inlet manifold

RR is having a replacement engine oil cooler.

Earlier start today so we can let them cool down a bit so we don’t burn ourselves 😅

We had a day off today to do a bit of “training”….
Great day at
Our instructor’Swanny’ was very knowledgeable in assisting with any questions we had and was great to put the new model RRS through its paces and experience just how good the JLR brands 4wd systems are!

For us it’s good to use and see how these car’s work in these different conditions allowing us to gain more knowledge and being able to put that into practice and hopefully allowing us to diagnose and repair certain faults more effectively.

Good start to the week……

The defender engine replacement we carried out last week is running great and we are just waiting for some extra parts to get it all finished and back to the customer.

Discovery 4 body off as well as the turbo’s that will be arriving with us tomorrow. Then we can fit them , wax oil the under body and chassis , rebuild the car and back to the customer by Friday.

RR L322 is in for some MoT failures to be rectified

Another discovery 4 with a high pitched noise when the engine is revved , diagnosed as badly fitted turbo’s with what looks like the incorrect gaskets….not sure who replaced them but it’s not right so that’s coming back in a couple of weeks to have the correct gaskets fitted.

And finally another defender 110 with a clutch fault that we have diagnosed as a leaking slave cylinder.

***Monday***
After a very very hot and sweaty week last week where we had to make some adjustments to our working ours , this week we are back to normal!
A few dropped off this morning , one of which the defender 110 in for a replacement JLR engine that will be completed by the end of the week.

Disco 4 timing belts and gearbox service
RR L322 rear brakes
RRS inlet manifold
RRS full service and glow plugs
D4 egr pipe

I’m not sure we’ll get it all done but we’ll have a good go 😅

A first for us……

RR L405 with gearbox issues that we diagnosed as a solenoid fault internally. We removed the transmission valve block and sent off to be tested/repaired. It was very quickly sent back to us “unable to test/repair” so after doing a bit of research we managed to find a ZF transmission solenoid replacement kit! How hard can it be?! Actually really simple! I stripped the valve block down , replaced all of the solenoids and it’s now ready to go back in the car. Let’s hope I’ve got it right 🤞🤞

A few we are currently working on over the next day or so….
RRS s having both manifolds and the engine oil cooler replaced as well as a couple of extra bits
RR with a transmission fault , we’ve removed the valve block and sent away for repair.
D5 in for timing belt replacements.
JAAAAAAG is burning engine oil 🙁
