Stolen car found four months after theft in Glasgow as police probe continues

It was reported stolen in November 2024 and officers said forensic enquiries are ongoing before the car is eventually returned to its owner.

In a statement shared to social media, a spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "On Saturday February 1, Greater Glasgow Violence Reduction Unit officers were carrying out proactive patrols when they observed this Audi A4 in the Maryhill area.

Enquiries revealed this vehicle was reported stolen in November 2024 and was using cloned registration plates.

“The vehicle was seized and forensic enquiries are ongoing before the vehicle is returned to the rightful owner."

CCTV images released after £3000 worth of items stolen from car in Portsmouth

Police are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred overnight between Wednesday, January 22, and Thursday, January 23, on All Saints Road. During the incident, items including a bank card and driving licence were stolen.

Authorities have now released images of a woman they wish to speak to in connection with the fraudulent use of the stolen bank card at a petrol station on Kettering Terrace.

As part of their ongoing efforts to prevent vehicle-related crime, police are urging the public to remain vigilant. They advise ensuring all vehicle doors and windows are securely locked and avoiding leaving valuables inside or in plain sight.

This warning follows a surge in vehicle thefts, with police receiving 57 reports in the past month. Notably, only 13 of these incidents involved cars that had been properly locked and secured.

Essex couple's £100k stolen car found in Tilbury en route to Africa

Anthony and Danielle Wilson awoke at their Essex home to find their Range Rover had vanished. The vehicle was later found loaded on a container at a UK port bound for the Democratic Republic of Congo in central Africa. The Wilsons' experience, police warn, is becoming increasingly common.
It took thieves just 63 seconds to steal the Wilsons' Range Rover Sport from their gated home in a village near Bishop's Stortford.
The theft was caught on the family's CCTV system. It shows two people involved - one stealing the Wilsons' car and another driving the vehicle they arrived in.
"You can see one of them creeping up the drive," said Mrs Wilson, whose parents were staying with them on the night of the theft. "He's literally leaning into my car, doing something, switched the interior light off, and then trundled it down the drive."

Two men behind the theft of more than £1 million worth of keyless-entry cars across the UK have been jailed.

Juozas Baltors, 28, and Darius Lukauskas, 31, conspired to steal 26 keyless-entry vehicles from 10 counties across England before having them delivered to a ‘chop-shop’ in Peterborough where the vehicles were dismantled and thought to have been shipped out of the county.

Some of those thefts happened in Buckinghamshire on March 6 last year - with a £28,000 BMW 760LI stolen in Chesham Bois and a £20,800 BMW 435D stolen in Amersham.

Baltors came to the attention of police in Peterborough on April 13 last year, when they spotted a BMW X5 being driven on cloned number plates.

Checks revealed the BMW had been stolen from Hampshire 10 days earlier and a search of the car found a jamming device in the glovebox.
