Ever looked at 5W-30 on an oil bottle and wondered what the numbers actually mean?

Most people recognise the grade. Far fewer know what it’s actually telling them.

The first part relates to cold-temperature performance.
The second relates to viscosity when the engine is at operating temperature.

But there’s one important bit people often miss:
Two oils can both be 5W-30 and still not be interchangeable.

The manufacturer’s required approvals and specifications matter just as much as the grade on the front of the bottle.

We’ve kept the explanation simple in the slides.

Friday doesn’t always mean winding down.

When customers still need product, there are still deliveries to get out and jobs to get done.

Lubricants, greases, AdBlue and more, heading out to businesses across the North West.

Then it’s back to the yard, ready to do it all again next week.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Classic TT. What a week on the Mountain Course 🏁

We couldn’t be prouder of the riders and teams we’ve had the privilege of supporting.

A brilliant few days for Joe Yeardsley, who took 3rd in the inaugural Junior 600 Classic TT, missing out on second by just 0.409 seconds, before backing it up today with an excellent 5th place in the Senior Classic TT.

And right behind him today was Mistral Racing teammate Micko Sweeney in 6th, with only 3.5 seconds separating the pair at the flag.

There were more strong results in Sunday’s Formula One Classic TT too, with Micko Sweeney finishing 6th, Julian Trummer 7th and Joe Yeardsley 8th.

It was a tougher week for Peter Hickman and WizNorton Racing, with technical issues forcing retirements in both the Formula One and Senior Classic TT races.

That’s the reality of road racing. Not every week ends with the result the effort deserves.

For us, supporting these riders and teams is about much more than seeing the JP Oils name on a bike.

It’s about backing the people who put an incredible amount of work into getting themselves and their machines onto the Mountain Course, then giving everything once the flag drops.

A huge well done to everyone involved, and thank you for another brilliant week of racing on the Island.

Some riders give you plenty of reasons to keep backing them. Joe Yeardsley is one of them🏍️

It’s been brilliant watching what Joe has achieved over the last few years.

From winning the Senior Manx Grand Prix as a newcomer with a 122.051mph lap, to top-ten TT finishes and an impressive 6th place in the Sportbike TT this year, he’s already shown just how much potential he has on the Mountain Course.

And he’s not slowing down.

At this year’s Classic TT, Joe carries the No.1 plate in the new Junior 600 class and has already become the first rider in the class to break the 120mph barrier in qualifying, with a 120.143mph lap.

For a rider still building his road racing career, those are some serious results.

JP Oils have been proud to support Joe through the Manx Grand Prix, the TT, Classic TT and racing away from the Mountain Course too.

But what makes supporting Joe particularly special is that he never forgets the people behind him. He always makes a point of showing his appreciation for the support he receives, and that means a lot to us.

We’re incredibly proud of everything he’s achieved to date and even more excited to see where he goes from here.

We’re proud to be supporting some serious talent on the Island this year.
