Mechanically, these VFR400R locks worked OK. However, the ignition electrical side of things wasn't OK. The ignition wouldn't switch on or would randomly switch off.
The switch was cleaned, lubricated and rebuilt. A spare key cut and the seat & tank locks checked.

This stolen recovered CB650R ignition had keyhole damage.Serviced and rebuilt with replacement parts, ready for the road...

The ignition switch on this 1983 Suzuki Katana 1000 was really worn. You can see groves worn into the plastic lock body, these allowed the key to be removed in any position.
The only new old stock switch I could find was in the USA!
New switch bought, the bike's original seat and tank locks were rebuilt to work on the new ignition keys.

Keys made for this 1979 Kawasaki KT250 ignition (no, I'd not heard of one before either!).
Photos 2,3&4 are as it was disassembled. All parts cleaned and lubed when rebuilt.

The owner of a Honda Blackbird was having problems with this ignition switch. On inspection, it was pretty dirty inside....
