BMW Z4 E89 in recently with the convertible top stuck open, poor weather incoming and nowhere indoors store it.

Took a call recently of a customer in desperate need of a roof repair to his Z4 after the roof wouldn’t close. With weather casts showing heavy rain overnight and for the rest of the week, I booked him in same day so that it could be parked inside my workshop overnight to be investigated in the morning.

With no fault codes showing during the initial diagnostic, a deeper dive into the live-data and micro switches was required. Thankfully traced the fault to a microswitch for the boot lid, replaced with a Genuine BMW part and fixed same day 💪

One happy customer and one dry BMW

BMW X5 – Engine management light investigation.

This BMW X5 came to me after several previous visits to another garage, with the original air mass fault still unresolved.

I carried out a thorough diagnostic investigation, including a full vehicle scan, live-data checks and targeted test plans of the relevant systems and components. Rather than simply replacing parts based on fault codes, I worked through the symptoms and test results to identify the actual underlying cause of the problem.

The fault was successfully identified, allowing me to provide an accurate repair plan and fix the fault correctly without the parts cannon.

Another diagnostic challenge successfully solved by GRM 💪

Some fault finding on my own BMW.

Rear parking sensor was intermittently acting up during a road trip through Europe. Narrowed it down to a broken wire in the rear body loom. Repaired the wire and the system is all working again 💪
