V8 Land Rover Discovery ✅

This V8 Disco came to us as a recovery / non start. The previous owner had messed around under the bonnet and replaced a multitude of different things to try and get it running before giving up and coming to us for help. 👨🏻‍🔧

We started simple, checking the timing, making sure it had fuel and spark.
We found a mistake that’s easy to make if you’re not familiar with the Rover V8, the distributor 180 degrees out.

Once refitted correctly, she fired up first turn of the key.

Sometimes product knowledge and experience is all it takes, not firing the parts cannon. 😅✔️

Corsa timing chain ✅⚙️

This Vauxhall Corsa came in for a timing chain replacement, once stripped down we found lots of debris and broken-up material from the timing system. The chain was also very close to breaking, so it was definitely caught just in time before potentially causing serious engine damage. Along with the timing chain, we replaced the water pump and a track rod end, carried out an MOT, and thoroughly checked the vehicle over.

Everything was reassembled and tested to make sure the engine was running correctly and the vehicle ready for the road. Another job where catching the problem early has potentially saved the customer from a much bigger and more expensive engine repair! 👨🏻‍🔧🔧

Bmw repairs ✅

This 325D came in for a number of repairs, including a replacement rear brake calliper, both rear springs and both front top mount bearings. We also carried out an oil and filter service and a full vehicle health check including fault code read to make sure there were no other issues needing attention. 🛞

All repairs and servicing were completed, followed by a road test to ensure everything was working as it should. Another BMW back on the road and ready to go. 👨🏻‍🔧

Fiesta Van knocking noise ✅

This Fiesta Van came in with a noticeable knocking noise from the front end. After carrying out a thorough inspection, we found worn lower suspension arms, play in the inner steering rack joint and an engine steady with worn bushes. 👨🏻‍🔧

While carrying out the repairs, we also completed a full vehicle health check and found two tires were worn down to the cords and in need of immediate replacement.

Another good example of why a health check is important — identifying issues before they become a bigger problem. 🔧

Defender clutch master and slave cylinder ✅

This 90 came in with a customer complaint of clutch issues. We diagnosed the fault and found the clutch master cylinder had failed, leaking hydraulic fluid into the driver’s footwell. As the master and slave cylinders work together and are more than likely the same age, we recommended replacing both at the same time to ensure reliability and help prevent another failure in the near future.

With a new master cylinder, slave cylinder, fresh brake fluid and the system fully bled, the clutch is now operating exactly as it should.

Hyundai i10 catalyst faults ✅

This customer came to us with an engine light on. After scanning the faults we diagnosed that the catalyst was beyond its life expectancy.
New cat fitted with gaskets and mostly new bolts as they decided to all break off 🤦🏻‍♂️
Codes cleared, road tested and no engine light returning 😅

BMW N47 Timing chain ✅

Another major repair completed in our workshop – a timing chain replacement on a BMW 1 Series fitted with the N47 engine.

This isn’t a simple timing chain job. To carry out the repair correctly, the engine and gearbox have to be removed, allowing proper access to the timing assembly at the rear of the engine. 👨🏻‍🔧

As part of this repair, we carried out:
✔️ Engine and gearbox removal
✔️ Complete timing chain kit replacement
✔️ New guides and tensioners
✔️ Renewed all engine gaskets and seals that were removed for access
✔️ All necessary bolts torqued to spec
✔️ Timing set using correct specific fit tools
✔️ Thorough testing before returning the vehicle to the customer

Whilst the engine is already out, we replace all the gaskets and seals to help prevent future oil leaks and save on labour costs later down the line.

The BMW N47 is well known for timing chain issues, so carrying out the repair properly with quality parts gives the customer confidence and helps ensure long-term reliability of the engine.

Range Rover TDV6 Mot prep work ✅

Another big job completed for a happy customer! 💪

This Range Rover came to us not roadworthy, so we collected it and brought it back to the workshop for a full health check.

After carrying out a thorough inspection, we discussed everything with the customer, agreed on the necessary repairs, and got to work.

Work carried out:
• 2 new tires
• Auxiliary belt
• Track rod end
• CV boot
• Full air-to-coil suspension conversion with bypass module
• 2 rear suspension arms replaced
• Galvanised fuel tank cradle
• Four-wheel alignment
• New windscreen fitted (due to a crack)

Once all the work was completed, the vehicle went through its MOT and passed successfully ✅

We then returned the fully repaired and roadworthy Range Rover back to its owner, ready for many more miles ahead.

Mercedes rear subframe replacement ✅

🚗🔧 Another major repair completed for a local customer!

This vehicle came in after failing its MOT due to severe corrosion on the rear subframe. One corner of the frame had rusted away significantly making the vehicle unsafe for the road.

We removed the old rear subframe, fitted a replacement unit, and installed new bushes to ensure everything was secure and performing as it should.

Rust is a common issue on many older vehicles and can often go unnoticed until MOT time. If you’ve got an MOT coming up and have concerns about corrosion underneath your vehicle, it’s worth getting it checked out.

Tiguan Rear brake pads ✅

This customer came to us with a squeeling noise from the rear, which was diagnosed as the rear brake pads at 90% worn.
As this car is relatively new we used our diagnostic equipment to wind the electric handbrake back to allow the new pads to be fitted.
With the new brake pads greased, carriers cleaned and wheels torqued, we reset the handbrake, checked the fluid level, gave it a road test and returned it to a happy customer.
