🏁 INCREDIBLE NEWS FOR UNITED DOWNS RACEWAY 🏁
The Stock Car Racing community is overjoyed to learn that Cornwall County Council have agreed a new 10 year lease for the United Downs Raceway near St Day.
The United Downs Raceway was built in 1962 as a go-kart track and was converted into a Stock Car Racing track in 1969, with racing now staged there in each of the subsequent six decades.
The Raceway also enjoys the status of being recognised as an Asset of Community Value.
Crispen Rosevear, of promoters Autospeed, revealed, “We have been working on the new long-term lease for more than a year. Our primary wish was to be given a decent length of time, to open the door to investment into making the facilities better for drivers and race fans. We have been invited to address green issues and sustainability in a way that has not previously been embraced by the racing community, and we have already had productive preliminary discussions with the local environmental group. These are exciting times for all concerned.”
“Stock Car racing has a long history at United Downs Raceway and is extremely well supported,” added Autospeed’s Crispen Rosevear. “We want United Downs to continue to be a sporting landmark in Cornwall."
On behalf of the whole team, can we thank everybody who has supported our campaign to first keep the Raceway open and now secure its immediate future. Thank you 😉👍
