🚗 Driving Test Myths… let’s clear a few up! 🚗

❌ “You must steer at 10 and 2”
Nope. Any safe, controlled steering method is fine. Push-pull, shuffle, one-handed when appropriate. The examiner cares about control, not clock faces.

❌ “You have to exaggerate mirror checks”
You really don’t. Examiners are trained to spot natural eye and head movement. Acting like you’re watching a tennis match just looks forced.

❌ “Don’t take your test on a Friday… all the passes are gone”
There are no pass quotas. None. Zero. Every test is assessed on your driving, not the examiner’s weekly allowance.

❌ “The test is harder/easier if you don’t go in an instructor’s car”
False. Private car or instructor’s car makes no difference. Same marking, same standards, same test.

A few more classics whilst we’re here:

❌ “Examiners want to fail you”
They don’t. A pass makes their day easier, not harder. There’s more paperwork to do on their side for a failed test.

❌ “If you stall, you’ve failed”
Not always, stalling happens. It’s how you deal with it that matters.

❌ “If you go the wrong way, that’s a fail”
Wrong route is fine. Dangerous decisions aren’t.

❌ “Just drive really slow so you don’t make any mistakes, then you can’t fail”
Driving too slowly can be just as much of a problem as driving too fast and in certain cases, will be marked as a serious fault.

Drive well and safe, then you’ll pass! Simple as that! 🙌
