Well, it’s all go As usual! Now looking to take east coast boat across to west to its new base with Murray for new adventures this summer.
In the meantime, one of my most interesting historical sites ever visited. Long before the adjacent Corinth Canal in The Greek isthmus of the Peloponnese was dug out….. the Diolkos! ! A limestone pavement, created along the length of the current straight canal but with turns and hills to manoeuvre large ships across in order to save the long arduous sail round the isthmus. Must have been a hard task for the workers hauling the ships over this strip of land but obviously a profitable one. No wonder the canal was thought an easier venture, albeit a task in its own historical right.
In ancient Corinth tonight with a historical walk on the agenda for tomorrow morning before too hot.
Currently enroute to sail with Murray and Svea in the Ionian again for a few days but with Elaine this time. Very excited for some new destinations.
