Many people ask why timing belt renewal is so important and what may cause a timing belt to fail on your vehicle. Here are some interesting facts about possible failure of the timing belt :-

Wet timing belt , the rubber compounds are constantly submerged in engine oil. The continuous exposure to heat, friction and chemical byproducts soften and break down the belt .

Incorrect oil specification ie using the wrong viscosity or a non compliant brand can cause the rubber to rapidly degrade.

Infrequent oil changes

Fuel consumption. Frequent short trips and stop start driving prevent the engine reaching optimal operating temperatures. Thus accelerating rubber deterioration.

Vehicles have a certain recommended replacement mileage or age. We are able to either inspect free of charge or check when your vehicle is due for a replacement.
Prices do vary from approximately £600 plus VAT.

Ring Charlotte on 01642 677931 or message her on WhatsApp for a quote for a timing belt /timing chain replacement.
