Big congratulations to Oliver Smith-Lindsey who drove superbly in sunny Skegness this afternoon to earn his licence with a first time pass and just ONE driver fault 🥳

Ollie came to me in February having learnt to drive in his own car already, and wanted to pause and get some professional advice before getting his practical test booked. After an initial assessment lesson it was clear that Ollie had a brilliant driving foundation, but was lacking a lot of knowledge around mirror checks and observations, as well as being a little unsure on the rules and requirements around parking manoeuvres. In just a few lessons we:

☑️ Discussed what observations and mirror checks are needing when changing speed and/or direction, and why they are important

☑️Practised, practised, practised until it was second nature

☑️Polished up on manoeuvres, sat nav driving, following road signs, and other things Ollie would or might be asked to do on his test

☑️Got familiar with the test area including junctions and roads that students often find confusing

Then with a lucky find on a driving test cancellation for today, it was over to Ollie to put it all together this afternoon and got the result he wanted with great feedback from the examiner. Thanks for choosing me to help get you ready for your test, and safe driving 🚗🥳

There were tears in the car today.. I can cope when they're happy tears of relief though 🤣 huge well done Taylor for a fabulous drive at Lincoln today with two driver faults getting yourself that well earned pass. From hating hill starts to absolutely bossing them on your test, I'm honestly really sad to see you go as we've had such a laugh along the way but thrilled you can go visiting family and getting around without relying on trains and Ubers any more. Congratulations Izzy for a wonderful drive at Skegness this morning resulting in a pass with just 2 driver faults, and high praise for your driving standard from your examiner. The last few lessons I've had with Izzy have been so smooth, so controlled and safe.. it's like she's been driving for years. A very well deserved first time pass for Paige at Lincoln test centre today, with just two driver faults and lovely feedback from the examiner. Paige has been an absolute pleasure to teach and taken on board all feedback I've given her, always willing to problem solve and improve. Now that's out the way she can concentrate on A-Level revision instead of show me tell me questions 😂 congratulations Paige, super job well done ☺️🚗

First test of the year today - and it's a pass! 🥳 Massive congratulations to Harry for a superb drive in Boston this morning resulting in a first time pass with 4 driver faults. Im so proud of the work Harry has put in to be here today with his full licence earned - from such low self belief and confidence when we started to now being a calm, smooth, competent driver. Harry's attitude to his lessons has always been fantastic and we've had a lot of laughs a long the way (and some frustrating roundabout lessons 😂) thankyou for choosing me to teach you, and for the very sweet card and chocs. Safe driving, and enjoy not having to get up at 5am for the bus to uni any more! ☺️

Teaching is off til the New Year, but an exception was made this morning to take Esther to her driving test bright and early for 8.10am this morning - resulting in her passing with a few driver faults and earning her full driving licence. Esther has worked super hard to get to this point and I'm really proud to see her able to use her own car to get to work and around now. Well done Esther, safe driving, and thankyou for the bubbly and chocs - much appreciated 🥰 🚗

Massive congratulations Harley for a fantastic drive at Boston resulting in a first time pass with just two driver faults today with great feedback from the examiner. Harley contacted me only a few weeks ago after spending the last few months driving with his dad and it was clear he was already a very safe and capable driver - after just four hours of training with me polishing up skills and manoeuvres plus a mock test, and finding a last minute test cancellation he's nailed that pass. Safe driving for the future Harley, and top effort from yourself (and your dad!) for the work you've put in to get here! Thanks for choosing me to help you get that last prep sorted ☺️🎉🚗

..Then also recently massive congratulations to Felicity who has been a pleasure to teach, always worked hard and put in 100% effort into her driving - paying off on Friday with an excellent drive earning her a first time pass at Skegness with just 3 driver faults. Great feedback from the examiner and I was very impressed by Felicity's calm manner and confident attitude during the test, keeping nerves totally at bay. Well done 🥰

Two tests and two passes in the last few days.. most recently is Nya who absolutely smashed it at Boston today with an amazing drive earning her a first time pass with just ONE driver fault and compliments from her examiner. I can't take much credit here as Nya came to me from another instructor who has moved away from the area, I've just stepped in to keep Nya fresh in her good habits and do some mock tests over the last few months. A thoroughly good job, well done Nya 🎉

Massive well done to Safiya who gave a great drive at Boston this morning resulting in a first time pass. Safiya put in so much effort to get herself smoothly driving my car in just a few weeks, after working hard with her previous instructor who has now moved away from the area. Great job Safiya - and also credit to Kerry Bell for the great habits and skills you helped build with Safiya before you went 😊 🚗✨

Another great drive at Boston today from my extremely nervous student, resulting in a first time pass with just 3 driver faults. She made a mistake during her independent satnav drive and ended up in the wrong lane for a turn she was supposed to take at a traffic light, but stayed calm and confidently committed to going the "wrong way" safely and got back on route with some instructions from the examiner. Proving you can go wrong, as long as you do it safely and stay calm. Well done and lots of happy driving to come 🚗✨

It's been pretty quiet on the testing front over the summer holidays but back to it. Two this week and both passed first time, super proud of Rio and Charlie for their fantastic hard work leading up to and on the days conquering nerves resulting in them both gaining their full licences. Rio and Charlie both have young children, and knowing what a difference being able to drive will make to them taking the kids for days out makes me so happy for both of them. Both have been an absolute pleasure to teach with some brilliant conversations along the way so sad to see them go but absolutely thrilled they don't need me any more! Well done both 🥰
