Finishing the week off on a high!

This Rolls-Royce 20/25, recently seen in the Jimmy Car film Fackham Hall, is now in its final primer stage.

After many hours spent refining panel gaps and carefully blocking the polyester primer, the car is now in final prime. It will remain in this stage for a short period to allow the primer to fully sink and settle before the next round of block work begins.
Next step: fitting the wings and running boards so we can carry out the blocking process with the car fully assembled.
From there, it’s on to disassembly and final colour.

Alfa GTV front panel repair

Not every job calls for a new panel. In many cases, the original metal can be carefully repaired and reshaped, bringing it back to its proper form while keeping the car as authentic as possible.
Repairing rather than replacing also means better panel fit and preserving the character of the car.

A bit of patience, the right tools, and traditional metalwork go a long way.

This MGB GT came in for an Oselli fast road spec engine upgrade, perfectly complemented by a reconditioned overdrive gearbox. Running a Weber 45 DCOE and an uprated fuel pump.
All ready for some well-deserved summer enjoyment.

Austin 7 Ruby – Back on the Road!
A well-known breakdown service recovered this lovely Austin 7 Ruby to its owner’s home, believing a UJ had failed on the prop shaft. When we brought the car in for a proper diagnosis, we discovered the real culprit - the keyway had failed on the axle half shaft, damaging both the shaft and rear hub.
We carried out a full axle overhaul, fitting new components and making sure everything was set up perfectly. Now this classic is ready to enjoy many more miles of vintage motoring fun!

Rolls-Royce 20/25 Progress Update!
Our Rolls-Royce 20/25 has now finished up with the ash frame and aluminium repairs and is moving steadily through the paint process.
You’ll notice we’ve left the doors fitted — this allows us to maintain optimal door gaps throughout every stage of blocking and shaping. Precision is key with a coach-built car like this.
All filler is applied over epoxy primer, giving the best possible protection for the bare metal underneath. The car is now finished in polyester, ready for another round of blocking before we move toward colour.
Another step closer to bringing this elegant classic back to life 🤩

A little break from the usual routine this week!
Headed back down to see Geoff at MPH Motor Panels for another solid day of wheeling on Friday. Then it was an early start Saturday morning down to Penzance to meet the legend himself, Dominic Chinea who very kindly sorted us out with an original Ranalah English wheel, complete with a set of his new lower anvils!
Finally back home and unloaded. Can’t wait to get it all set up in the workshop and spend some proper time using it.
A long couple of days, but absolutely worth every mile.

Thank You from AA Classics!
A huge thank you to everyone who visited our stand over the weekend at Tatton Park for The Classic Car Shows. It was fantastic to see so many new faces and catch up with some familiar ones too.
We were blown away by the amazing response to the Alfa Romeo in its metalwork stage, and the interest in our upcoming Jaguar E-type restoration project was incredible.
Your enthusiasm and support mean everything to us. We’re already looking forward to the next event - hope to see you there!
