Another day another wet belt done ✅️

Today we had another PSA wet belt replacement (Commonly found on Peugeot,Citroen and Vauxhall). We removed the engine sump to remove all debris from the oil pump strainer then cleaned the vacuum pump filter. Many people forget to check the strainer which is the main underlying issue these have when the belts start to break up which can cause major engine damage!

After that we then changed the wet belt like normal and had it running like new again 🚗

Oil Pressure Problems 😧

We had this car come into us with the oil pressure intermittently coming on. After we checked the oil pressure manually, we noticed with the vehicle under load it dropped pressure!
After stripping down the bottom half of the engine we found the oil pump had failed internally.

A swift replacement of the oil pump assembly and new oil, we rechecked thr pressures to now find the correct readings!

Steering knock 😮

Recently had this customer come in for a investigation into knocking noise from steering. We traced it to inside the steering rack motor and upon removal and strip down, we found the motor bush to be disintegrated!

After a quick clean and swap over, the car was back together steering like new!

Another customer happy ✅️

We went out to this VW Passat in the week to investigate a sudden knocking noise. We traced it to a lower arm bush which had become completely detached! We done our research for before arriving, to see this advised on the previous MOT which saved us time by pinpointing the cause.

To get the customer back on the road as quick as we could, we fitted his new lower are rear bush imminently 🔧

One of the jobs we have done the last couple of weeks 🔧

We noted while doing a previous repair, an oil leak from the rocker cover gasket which we advised needed replacing. As we began to dismantle we found all 4 spark plugs to be submerged in oil! (How the vehicle was running fine is beyond me 🤷🏼‍♂️)

After a nice clean up and a new rocker cover gasket, she was running just like new again 😎

All this for two bolts 🤯

Last week we went out to this customer to diagnose a gear issue with his Kia and we traced it to a broken gear cable. We went back this weekend just gone and replaced them which involved stripping out the dash and heater box to access two bolts holding them in!

We had this 2006 Focus come into us running lumpy and poor emissions. After a scan over the vehicle we found an air leak from a breather pipe to the inlet manifold which has perished over time. All replaced and back running perfect 👌🏼

Gearbox oil changes 🔧

Automatic gearboxes have a service schedule to change the oil and filter to keep it in top condition. A lot of Gearboxes on our cars are sealed for life however the oil will degrade over time so its always best to carry out a oil change from time to time. This oil change can also give us a indication of the condition of the box to avoid unexpected expensive repairs.
This DSG gearbox has been regularly serviced and is just surpassing 150k and still drives like new!

What a busy weekend we had! 🔧

Here is one job we had in over the weekend on a very stacked out Saturday. It was a 17 year old Nissan Xtrail in much need of front and rear disc and pads aswell as a lower arm. A few seized sliders and callipers later we had her braking like she was brand new! 🌟

Bit of a rusty situation 😬

This week we had this Dacia Duster in for two front coil springs due to heavy corrosion and worn drop links. Upon removal of the wheels we realised we were going to be in for a bit of a treat with all the rust!
We managed to replace both the front coil springs and drops links without much issue after a deep clean of all the nuts and bolts that needed removing!
